I'm gonna be honest here. I got home from work, turned on RAW, saw the continuation of the Fandango/Layla/Summer Rae storline, and turned it off.
Seriously, goddamn, I don't give a rat's ass about that. Killed my interest right away. So, yeah, I don't know what happened on RAW.

My friend and I have had this discussion (and yeah, I AM black). I'm a huge wrestling fan but it didn't take long to realize that a black guy wasn't ever going to hold the WWE championship. The WCW/World Championship? Sure. Give it to Booker T. The ECW belt? Sure. Give it to Lashley. IC belt, tag team, European, etc.? Sure. But the precious WWE belt? Not gonna happen. And yeah, the Rock is half Samoan/half Black but like you said, most people can't even see it. I saw Ron Killings kick all kinds of ass in TNA. Then he came back to WWE and become a horrible rapper or talk to "Little Jimmy".
I still enjoy the show quite a bit but we know Vince.

However, R-Truth is someting I'd like to talk about. He's a good example of why I'm only a partial fan of the WWE.
First, though, I think I should talk about why I do keep checking up on the WWE. The simple fact is, they have a crazy amount of talent. Cesaro, Ziggler, Ambrose, Rollins, and Brian on the main roster? El Generico, PAC, Devitt, Callihan, and Kenta on NXT? Hell yeah. That's world class. The reason I keep watching is that I keep hoping one of these guys will be allowed to shine. It's pretty much that simple.
Now, on to a few of the reasons why I don't have a very high opinion of the WWE.
I touched on this a little in one of my G1 Climax posts. I know that almost no one reads them so I'll say it again: New Japan is fun to watch because they have a mid-card that isn't portrayed as being garbage. In fact, in the G1 tournament already, ALL the top guys have lost cleanly to guys who aren't in the Heavyweight Title picture. The way it's set up over there, the best of the mid-card is considered to be half a level below the top dogs, at the most, with the idea that, on any given night, ANYONE can beat ANYONE. THAT is why you end up with re-matches, to see who is really the best, because it's so close. On the other hand, in the WWE, you have guys like Cena, who are shown as being like EIGHT HUNDRED LEVELS above the best of the mid-card. Yeah, that lets you pretend they're super-heroes but it also devalues the hell out of the rest of your roster.
That brings me to R-Truth. The guy was, with the Little Jimmy gimmick, super over with the audience. Honestly, I don't even mind that Cena beat him in their feud, but then they had Cena SQUASH him on RAW to end the feud. I mean, why? What the hell does that accomplish? Cena doesn't need to be fucking over. He won the damn feud, for cat's sake. They could easily have dropped R-Truth down a notch and let him fight for the IC belt. Instead, they make him into a joke. It was such a waste. Even beyond that, the R-Truth/Miz thing was pretty awesome. They were the Shield before the Shield. Why even rip that apart almost as soon as it started?
As someone who also remembers Ron Killings being damn good, I think it's a shame that he's probably done about the best in the WWE that they were ever going to allow him to do.
