I don't even know why this PPV exists, to be honest. Nothing special about it at all. I'm also completely blown away by WWE booking. I don't understand what they're trying to accomplish, unless they're attempting to make Summerslam feel important by keeping anything interesting from happening before it arrives.

- Usos vs. Wyatts: Match of the show, easily. Why didn't the Wyatts finally get the belts, though? The Usos have only been interesting because of the Wyatt feud. The Wyatts winning would have kept some level of excitement about the tag division going forward. Strange. Also, it should have been much higher on the card.

- A.J. vs. Paige: As I said before, not really good but better than most Divas matches. Was badly hurt by odd pacing and Paige acting unstable. I have no freaking clue why the announcers spent most of the match talking about Twitter. The "frenemies" angle is stupid.

- Rusev vs. Swagger: Eh. I thought Swagger looked good, to be honest. Rusev is still very unpolished and doesn't have many moves. He looks lost when he's in control, which is bad for a monster heel who is supposed to dominate most of the time. I'm fine with the ending, as it didn't really hurt Swagger. He lost but he looked like he was close to the win before that.

- Rollins vs. Ambrose: Ah, this had to be a bright spot for anyone who bought the PPV just for this match. Some brawling that should have been on RAW and the match was called off. Wow. Totally and completely a setup for a match at Summerslam but a rip off now.

Bray Wyatt vs. Jericho: Not a bad match, though it felt more like RAW quality. Why isn't Bray winning ANYTHING AT ALL? New feud, loses. New feud, loses. He's going down rather than up. Next he'll job to Kofi and his career will be over. WWE creative killed what could have been an interesting character for a long time. Could have been even better than Raven's Flock but instead they started off with Cena beating the whole family. Nice job, WWE.

IC Title Battle Royal: Or, as I like to call it, The Parade of Failed Pushes. I mean, damn. Watching all those failed or stalled pushes come down was painful. So many guys who the WWE has cut adrift like the last year of the Wii. Ziggler was the highlight for me. Kofi's spots were silly and really just showcased how incredibly strong Cesaro is. When they showed The Miz hiding early, the ending was effectively given away. I figured it would be him, because he's like the only one there being pushed right now, or Sheamus, as the WWE loves him for some reason. It really was nothing special. By the way, Titus is a beast, why have they done nothing with him?

Fatal Four Way: This was about as predictable as you can possibly get. Kane and Orton had a falling out. Reigns did his big come back. Cena grabbed the win at the end. Yay. It's like they tried to make it boring on purpose. Orton worked really hard here, though. He's improved so much. Reigns ... shouldn't he actually win a match before he's in the picture for the World Title? Are they even trying in terms of logic?

This whole thing was just a meaningless setup for Summerslam. RAW will probably be more interesting.

I 100% agree with every syllable and every letter that Pokoko typed. It was just a night of anticipation and no reward.

G1 CLIMAX 2014!  For those who don't know, this is a big round robin style tournament in New Japan and what I consider the best wrestling event in the world.  They're spreading it out over two weeks now, with more rest, because last year's G1 took a toll on the performers.  The reason I think it's so awesome is that we don't know who will win!  They haven't had a repeat winner in like nine years or so and even the top dogs will lose a few matches.  For example, Tanahashi and Okada were the ones fighting for the Heavyweight Title last year and neither of those guys took home the 2013 G1 Trophy.

G1 Climax 2014 Block A Match Katsuyori Shibata vs. Shinsuke Nakamura  --  Very good match.  Both guys are excellent and very stiff.  Good use of the Figure Four by Shibata (Nakamura's finisher is the Boma Ye (running knee strike)).

G1 Climax 2014 Block B Match AJ Styles vs. Kazuchika Okada  --  Awesome, main event level match.  The crowd loved it and AJ was fantastic.  He sold great, he bumped hard, and he drew heat well.  This is the best heel character AJ has ever played.  This was also a huge match to have on Day One, as AJ had beaten Okada twice with the title on the line.  Okada is the future of New Japan but AJ might be the best wrestler in the world right now.

G1 Climax 2014 Block A Match Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Tomoaki Honma  --  This was a lot of fun.  I feel like I need to set this up a bit.  Tanahashi is like New Japan's John Cena in terms of importance to the company, except he's way better in every way possible.  Honma is more like a combination of Ziggler and Chris Beniot.  He's a constant underdog but he's darn good and the audience loves him.  Tanahashi has this really subtle way of playing a kind of temporary heel when he's against another popular guy by mocking them or not breaking clean.  It really helps to put the other guy over and let the crowd get behind them.  It was really effective here, as the building was hot for Honma.

G1 Climax 2014 Block A Match Bad Luck Fale vs. Tomohiro Ishii  --  Not bad, pretty much all because of Ishii.  Fale basically plays the role of Kevin Nash in the NWO.  Same size, same lack of mobility, same limited move set, but he's supposed to be a monster and he's getting a big push right now.  Ishii has been red hot, with a ton of great matches over the past year.  He's not big but he plays a bad-ass, bulldog type character who won't back down from anyone.

G1 Climax 2014 Block B Match Tetsuya Naito vs. Yujiro Takahashi  --  Good match with a lot of back-and-forth offense.  Not great but certainly solid.  Naito is a very talented young guy with a bright future.  He won the G1 last year.  Yujiro is probably the most hated guy in NJPW.  He's the one who cost Okada the title by turning on him.  He plays a Val Venis character, including wearing a towel to the ring.

There were a few other matches which I probably won't watch, mostly with wrestlers I don't care that much about.  Really good start to the tournament thus far!

Steph getting arrested was McMahon/ Austin levels of gold. Crowd was all over it.

If only it was part of a HHH/ Ambrose feud.

I'm curious what's going to happen with Kofi, Big E, and Xavier Woods. Hope it's a Nation 2.0 angle. I was hoping WWE would do this years ago with Booker T as the leader and Shelton Benjamin, Mark Henry, and Cryme Tyme.

Now get Titus O'Neal in on this!

Nation 2.0 would have seemed too non-PC to me a month ago to be on PG-WWE but then they go and give Vladimir Putin a major push so I dunno anymore.  As much as he gets hyped on RAW, I keep expecting Russia's President to run in and pile-drive Cena through the Spanish announce table.  Might be the only way to get Cena over with the crowd again, though I'm not even sure about that.

Also, Titus is in Slater Gator now, no way they can break that up.

This is starting to get interesting.  The New Japan thing already had my attention but this is starting to look like something new to professional wrestling.  Also, on a somewhat related note, I was listening to the Jim Ross podcast yesterday and AJ Styles said, basically, that New Japan didn't like TNA for some reason and so he wouldn't disrespect them by answering questions about returning to TNA in the future if they offered him more money.

Rumors are that Mark Henry is gonna be returning. Titus wouldnt be a bad idea though, when he split with Darren Young I thought they would push him for a US/IC title run or something but he just faded away.

Looking forward to seeing a potentially heel Kofi Kingston.

Hopefully before he's too old to have a decent feud.  I wish we could have gotten him in his prime.
