More on the AJ Styles TNA Status

John Gaburick, who took over for Bruce Prichard in the talent relations department, is implementing changes to TNA to make it a viable, successful company and to stick to a budget. This complicates matters in terms of negotiating a deal with Styles that makes financial sense for the company.

Styles wants a deal that reflects his 10 years with the company and that doesn't cause him to fall back in terms of the money he's making now. While TNA wants Styles to stay, the company understands he might have to take a better deal somewhere else for the sake of his family.

In other words, Styles's experience might have made him too expensive for TNA to keep. This is especially true in light of the company being focused at the moment at uncovering and building younger talent into stars. Ken Anderson, who is currently negotiating with TNA for a new contract, and Devon, are said to be in the same situation. Devon, whose character on TV now has to leave TNA, might actually depart from the company in one or two months.

So pretty much, if they dont pay him enough, he is gonna leave.

And I hope he leaves that sinking ship TNA.

Their shows havent been great nor good in the past few months.

Ever since Hogan appeared it has been getting worse and worse.

I thought the first month or so with Hogan was a HUGE improvement.

Then  it just plunged off a cliff so fast it was crazy as soon as they decided to challenge WWE on Mondays, Anderson got injured and Hogan began to think he was the only draw.   When the truth is, he isn't exactlly Abdullah the Butcher, so he can't wrestle at his age.

Had Hogan and Bischoff been brought in, only for like... 2 months to make a lot of the changes TNA needed, then been showed the door... with Russo.   TNA would be in good shape.

Russo is like the Rob Liefeld or Mark Miller of Wrestling.

All the Joshi clips here are sort of Ironic... because if I ran TNA that's probably what i'd do.  Just get rid of all the male stars and try and build a female USA Wreslting base.  They've some of the best workers on the roster anyway....  TNA name...

Put some good writing and personality behind female stars and i think they'd be surprised.

Anyone else knew exactly what was going to happen to that Escalade the moment it rolled out?

Good match between Orton and Christian, as usual. Their last feud was really good, too.

BLASPHEMY!!!!

With all the AJ Styles talk, I decided to go back and watch one of my favorite matches ever.  Most have probably already seen it, but if you haven't, it's definitely worth a look.  All three guys are fantastic.

Wow AJ Styles hasnt resigned his contract yet, he might be going...I mean wow TNA, thats just horrible if you cant get AJ Styles back. The face of TNA and they arent even giving him a high raise.

I hope he goes to WWE, He deserves that Spotlight. He is one of the best in ring wrestlers I have ever seen

It might mean nothing, sometimes the dirt sheets blow stuff out of proportion.  Everytime a contract comes up, they do the same thing.  I remember everyone talking about Samoa Joe going to the WWE.  Might be a work, as well, like with Devon or Matt Morgan.

Yeah, though, I'd mark out like a little girl for AJ Styles against CM Punk or Daniel Bryan.  Styles is a top 10 wrestler worldwide, in my opinion.  He's fearless, his bumps are insane, and he's got some great moves.  He could show Cena how to do a Styles Clash, too.  Of course, they'd probably have him work mid-card matches against Khali as punishment for being in TNA, if they even offered him a contract at all.

There's no "probably" about it;  I'd honestly be surprised if they would ever let him win in a main event on RAW. This is "Mr. TNA" that we're talking about. They'd change his name to something like "Tyler Bosh", make him wear plain black gear and have him job for the first two years before even letting him get off more than a couple of dropkicks and chinlocks.

I think about that from time to time. I could imagine an accountant screaming in Dixie's ear about how women like Gail Kim and Awesome Kong used to get higher ratings than the men, yet earn like a fifth of what Scott Hall was getting to show up and not take bumps.

I'd still have some men around, but it would pretty much be all X-Division guys who won't demand heaps of cash for what they did in other promotions. I'd completely market it around being an alternative and exceling at what the WWE doesn't: high-flying, fast paced matches and women that can actually wrestle. Obviously TV ratings would never crack anything beyond a 1.0 and PPV/ticket buys wouldn't be that great, but since I wouldn't be paying crusty old bastards like Hogan 30K an appearance, I wouldn't be hermorraghing nearly as much dough.
