Two things:
1. Most of the people in the market for a Wii want one for what it offers (motion controls and the accessible games that utilize them), which is something the PS3, w/ all its tech doo-dads and Blu-ray does not, so it really doesn't matter that, in your perception, that it does "SO much more". That is the true value of the Wii and something Sony--and as MS has already discovered--can't match with a simple price cut.
2. I'll go out on a limb and say this price cut will, in the long term, hurt MS more than it will hurt Nintendo.
