Two things:

1. Most of the people in the market for a Wii want one for what it offers (motion controls and the accessible games that utilize them), which is something the PS3, w/ all its tech doo-dads and Blu-ray does not, so it really doesn't matter that, in your perception, that it does "SO much more". That is the true value of the Wii and something Sony--and as MS has already discovered--can't match with a simple price cut.

2.  I'll go out on a limb and say this price cut will, in the long term, hurt MS more than it will hurt Nintendo.

meh it'll reach 50% evetually not this year or next year I think in the end it'll proberly have 70%

Kinda sucks, but, as long as it is still comfortably outselling PS360 individually, no big deal.

Nintendo doesn't need marketshare to make money. Marketshare is a much bigger worry for MS and Sony, who are both still losing a lot of money.

But i think Nintendo has a projection of 26M for fiscal yr ending 2010 and Sony project 13M for yr ending 2010 and i dont know wot is the projection of MS.. but i dont think it is greater than 13M. so overall Nintendo expect to beat combined MS & Sony Shipment..

But to me it is looking next to impossible now... i will like to see if PS3 price cut is going to cut into Wii or XBOX sales..

Also.. Is ms waiting untill next year to totaly rebrand and reprice the x360natal ?

This would be hugely more publisised than the ps3slim model

$250 Wii > $200 xbox 360.



Price cut don't increase demand in the product type(HD gaming), they increase demand in the product (PS3).

 

People who didn't ever want to buy a HD console, won't want to buy one just because it is cheaper. 

But people who wanted to buy one, might now choose the PS3 instead of the 360.
