I doubt it'll reach 50% market share ever as of now.
The PS3's sales will rise significally, and stay quite high for a long period, even after holiday considering there is some good releases Q1 and probably Q2 aswell for PS3 (GoW 3, GT5 (?), FF13 etc.) Then there's X360 great lineup for the holiday and 2010 aswell. The HD Twins will most likely combined outsell Wii for a LONG time.
That's what I think.

or until the wii gets a sub 200 price and such.....

If the Wii get a price point of $150 this or next year, then it CAN happen. But I doubt $200 will be enough.
And It would just be plain dumb to lower the price on Wii right now. Even if the sales did drop a bit for Wii, they'll still sell at MUCH compared to the HD Twins. If they dropped the price and sold a bit more it would likely be less profitable, since they'll make less of each console sold (obviously)

So we'll just wait and see, but my prediction is that the market share of Wii will be lowered to about 47-48% this year, followed by around 45% at the end of 2010.

Ohh yeh :)

The Wii never had and never will reach 50% of all console sales. It will fall down to about 48% of console sales.

it will atleast delay the 50% for a while.

Long Live SHIO!

No, look the price cut is not even that serious enough to effect the Wii's sales. The Wii will still reach 50% of the market share.

lol, you do realize this is a $100 price cut to a console that's been cheapest $400 for over 2 years.

(you better not be sarcastic, I can't even tell anymore)

Sony and MS are running out of cards to play.

Both have cut their prices drastically since launch, released several bundles and new models.

Wii is still $250 after 3 years, and still just one single model (except for black wii recently in Japan for MH3 lunch).

No electronic item i've ever seen has maintained it's price for so long while still selling so well, we will see what happens when its sub $200 worldwide.

Depends.

If Nintendo doesn't get a big jump in sales this holiday from new colors/new games/potentially a price cut, then yes, Wii may never reach 50%.

Kinda sucks, but, as long as it is still comfortably outselling PS360 individually, no big deal.

I think its obvious that if Nintendo hasnt cut the price of the Wii since launch then they just done give a damn about marketshare. If they had been selling the Wii at or below cost price for the majority of the generation like its competitors have then we'd be asking if it would ever reach 60%, not 50.

With a Wii price drop, it could do wonders. I think Nintendo will rule this holiday season.
