Controversial, yes, but justifiable. Yamauchi guided Nintendo into gaming and through three consoles, as well as into their fourth. He's directly responsible for Miyamoto being able to have the influence he did, and it was his decision to get involved with Sony, ultimately helping create the Playstation brand.

Thus, in my eyes, he has had more influence than even Miyamoto, Yokoi, or Kutaragi.
