If you can't see the deceptive manner in which he said that then I can't help you out there. It's not cut and dry at all. I'm not condemning him for it. That was a very clever way of putting it, but the manner in which he said it was to get people into thinking they're not seeing this on the 360.

The difference between this PC/console game rather than things like ME2 is

1) It's an MMO; which will not only run better on a PC but will play better because of the mouse/keyboard, etc etc. I don't have to go into specifics, only a rabid fanboy will try to compare PC FF14 to PS3 FF14. Everyone knows the deal with MMOs. I'll probably play it on my PC if I really get into it and it is indeed good.

2) PS3 fanboys have always ran their mouth about true blue exclusives and things like ME2/L4D2, etc, but while this PC/console MMO is obviously timed, things like ME2/L4D2 are NOT. Also, most people prefer to play MMOs on PCs and things like ME2 relaxing on their couch, so it becomes even more different. This is why the hypocrisy after E3 was astounding, because not only were fanboys being hypocrites (from both sides), but the situation looks far worse from a PS3 fanboys side, rather than an "Xbot."

3) There's not going to be a year head start. Not only is Square in talks with Microsoft as we speak, but the same day of Sony's E3 it was already announced that a 360 version is not out of question. Take into account Squares closeness with Microsoft this gen and the fact that FFXI has a bigger userbase on 360 rather than PS2 (even though PS2 has a much larger userbase than ANY current gen console) shows that Square just isn't going to abandon them. Also, we all know Microsoft isn't going to pass this up. It's not like a 360 version is blasphemous and unheard of and then, in late 2011, we hear "rumors" of a port (ala ToV). And then AGAIN, ToV isn't even confirmed outside of Japan after all this time (typical Bamco..). This doesn't even compare to one year old ports, because everyone knows it's coming.

And CGI, you're right in every regard, but you can't deny the "megaton" posts even on this site when it was announced. Hell, even 1/2 weeks after it was announced people were still claiming megaton. There was even a post titled "This is why FFXIV is megaton for Sony" or something along those lines (because people were already debunking it because it's indeed an MMO and nothing else)..

Very unlikely because in that case both Square and Sony would have lied to the public. They said in E3 that FF XIV is only on PS3 at release.

ff14 will be a 6 month exclusive at best for the ps3 on the console side. and i imagine it will use silver xbl just like ff11 did on the 360.

hmm I wonder if it will be like that.. currently the Player vs Player on FFXI works as Nation vs Nation and there are as: Bastok, Jueno, Windhurst and San D' Oria all fighting for map territory.

Again, if I have to pay2play, I still won't get it. If the costs end up being included into LIVE, then hell yeah I'll play it. If its free to play in general, I'll probably get it for PS3 since that version is coming out first.

They charge monthly 14 USD for FFXI .. regardless of what platform you play on pc, ps2 and xbox 360 (and only requires silver) plus an extra $1 per month for any additional characters you make... and it goes directly into Square Enix's pockets..

hmmm now I wonder if FFXIV will still use SE's playonline viewer ???
