Forums - Nintendo - Developers 'Nervous' About Making Wii Games

All I can say to this is...

Adapt or die.

The industry will be changed one way or another whether they like it or not so either jump on board on get run over.

No, I tell you what it REALLY is. They are scared of the Nintendo monopoly of the old days. And I can definitely understand that. In the very end the industry rests on Nintendo's shoulders but the flipside of that is that when no alternative is available Nintendo gets to call all the shots like the old days.

What they're REALLY scared of is making Nintendo too powerful again. But the sad thing about it is it really can't be stopped. Their fortunes are slowly dwindling following the industry as it was. All the charts show a gradual decline in the Japanese market. EA here in USA has eroded slowly over the years as well. Sooner or later they're gonna have to climb aboard just to stay afloat in the business.

Some will likely die if they don't.

I don't have time to read the whole thing, but has anyone pointed out yet that so far Ubisoft has had two million selling games? or that in Japan, the Wii currently has the highest selling third party game on a home console this gen?

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

 1. They were over-hyped launch titles. Kind of sad, really.

2. I find it kind of funny that John Lucas JUST said that the Japanese market was declining.

Honestly, I don't have the energy for the annoying crap that gets discussed day after day. I think I'll just go back to updating games in solitude, while getting no thanks for it. At least it's better than the forums.

Have you checked the ps3 sales ? Almost all games have flopped ULTRA HARD then... including 1st party games.

ps3 + ultra bad sales + high development costs = failure

wii + good sales + low development costs = success.

Its pretty easy actually.

"Wii are legion, for Wii are many"

1. Wii isn't in trouble. It's still the best selling console.

2. If a game is well designed, it should sell. If not, it probably won't.

3. Britney Spears isn't fat.

The media loves controversy. "Wii continues to sell very well" is a boring headline....but it's the truth. Roll with the Wii, or get rolled over.
