Forums - Microsoft - Mass Effect 2 Demo causes 360 to Overheat

It has been reported that the Mass effect 2 demo shown at GamesCom has resulted in an Xbox 360 overheating. The news was according to developers BioWare themselves, who posted the news on their Twitter account.

The game was paraded at GamesCom, during EA’s press conference over in Germany yesterday. No details have been revealed as to what caused the console to overheat, so we shouldn’t read too much into it just yet.

The official Tweet from BioWare states: ”Danger Will Robinson! Xboxes in ME2 demo overheating. We’re stalled as we fix”. It could be due to the reason that BioWare have really pushed the hardware to the limits with Mass Effect 2, kind of like what they are doing with Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Then again, they could of just left the Xbox 360 on all day! Let us know your thoughts on the news. Is it cause for concern?

Well, if you play on any console for a long time, it will heat up. If you then stick it in a box, the situation will get worse, and in a hot and probably stuff convention hall, the situation is going to be even worse

Sorry, I wasn't clear:  I believe it overheated, I'm just saying they said it overheated because the Mass Effect 2  demo was a joke (as in our demo is so awesome it overheats the 360).
