Well Sony fans and True Believers, it looks like we've finally reached the top of the mountain with today's announcement of the $299 PS3 and all of the great games we know are headed Sony's way now.  And with the PSP finally becoming the fierce little competitor we have always known it could be.  Yes, it looks like the PS3 and PSP are finally on their ways to becoming the gamer's choice in gaming now just like PS1 and PS2 were in their eras.

     However, I think we should remain a bit cautious in our excitement and expectations for a while longer because we don't know how Sony was able to get the PS3's price down to $299.  Hopefully, they haven't cut any of the wrong corners to do this like Microsoft did because the Sony line couldn't take the billions in dollars in losses and bad PR that Microsoft did in order to get their own markshare and 360s into customer's homes.

That said, I for one do look forward to getting my next PS3.

I thinik Heavy advertisement for Slim, PSN services and its games will get us those dream sales...but if SONY is still gonns rely on internet hype and word or mouth, i dont see it happening

I think that "top of the mountain" would be the Wii not ever selling another console and MS dropping out of the game. This is a nice price cut, slim redesign is always a good idea, but come on.

What victory is this you speak of? That the Slim rumors were true? There really weren't many who believed the rumors held no merit and if there were, that wouldn't exactly matter other than on a "I told you so" level.
As for the product itself, it remains to be seen how the Slim will perform so no one should celebrate or "sell the pelt before the bear is shot" so to speak.

I did like the announcements though, I was hoping for a PS3 Slim and GT5 news and I got both!
