Forums - Sony - I have done it........I have joined the dark side.

Just think about catching yourself smiling when stupid fanboys argue about which game is better on which console, which has better graphics or whatever.

Just smile, because you know, both of them will probably good and you can even choose which u play first.

Just smile. ;)

Trust me, your point of view will change significantly. Only problem is, half of the threads wont be interesting anymore... but trust me again you will need that extra time to play the games you will find yourself interested in.

If I could get away with it I'd supplement my PS3 with a 360. I'd really like to play Mass Effect 1 and 2 and I can't possibly justify getting a gaming rigged PC to play all the PC/360 exclusives. But there is simply no way I would get permission to buy another console.

So IMO, if you can get away with it get that PS3 and don't look back. I'll envy you for it.

And whatever sort of gamer you happen to be I have one word for you: Valkyria Chronicles...oh wait, that's 2 words, damn.

Edit: and another thing, the only people who are on the dark side are those who are so captivated by their slavish devotion to their chosen console that they can't bring themselves to recognise the quality of the other systems.

I'm already doing a little of that for a few reasons:

--I get to more objectively look at competing titles like GT5 and F3 and decide which I like better.  I'll simply buy the one I like more.  (Right now, I'm leaning more toward F3, by the way.)

--The PS3 camp at work today was talking about how the PS3 is now going to blow the 360 away in sales.  I know they were talking so that us 360 guys would hear them, but they were ecstatic when they heard I had already ordered one.  I brought a list of tags home with me that I'm going to have to add as soon as I get my PS3.  One guy was like, "Dude, I have a list of 22 games I want you to buy so that we can play together."

--I have honestly never watched a BluRay.  Never.  I have watched HD movies via digital cable, but I hear there is a noticeable difference between those and a BluRay movie.

--I just remembered today that I'm now going to get to play The Last Guardian and God of War III.  Pure awesome.

I'm definitely going to check out Uncharted.  I'm a little "meh" about KZ2.  My brother is strongly urging me to play Heavenly Sword.  My main problem now with having 2 consoles is that I want upcoming games for BOTH systems, and I don't have nearly enough money for all the stuff I want.

Heavenly Sword isn't a great buy, but it's a fantastic rent in my opinion.

As always, if you like RPG's I direct you to Valkyria Chronicles and Disgaea 3, and if you don't like RPG's then I'm afraid I won't be much help to you. I hope you enjoy your purchase and I'm always happy to see someone else excited for The Last Guardian. Thing needs to be higher on that monthly list thingy we got going.

...

well... sadly I didnt bring you any cookies. Sorry about that,. maybe someone else did.

Dude, lucky you! Hey, don't worry, for another 100 bucks, you can buy an adapter that will let you use the far superior 360 controller with your PS3. Keep the 360, that way you can still play some really awesome exclusives. Don't forget your roots though, You only go to the dark side if you become an idiot fanboy, remember, you are a gamer first, and now you get the best of both worlds.

Absolutely.  I never had any intention of selling my 360.  I am really looking forward to Mass Effect 2, Gears 3, Forza 3, Fable 3, Splinter Cell, etc. Plus, the multiplats are better on the 360, and I have a lot of friends and family who would be very upset if I couldn't play 360 with them online anymore.  The one thing I'll probably skip now that I will have a PS3 is Natal.  I think Sony's motion control solution is better, even though nobody is talking about it.  But really, the only true bitch I ever had about the 360 was the lack of a web browser.  I can't believe they don't put that in.  I can totally live without BluRays (even though I'm excited to watch a few), but EVERYTHING has a web browser now.  Sheesh.

Anyway, I think the two machines round each other out very well.  The price is right for the PS3 now.  It was time to make the leap.  You can't be a true gamer if you're completely ignoring or writing off the PS3's library.  Likewise for the 360.
