Of course you'll be able to drive all of them, there will be different version of many cars (mainly Japanese ones.)
Probably something 40 skylines, 15 silvias, 10 truenos, 8 supras, 20 nsx's etc.
This is great for true enthusiasts who actually know the difference between each model, but for most people they'll just pick the fastest version and be content.

Turn 10 didn't have a choice... Their penny pinching publisher wouldn't allow it. IMO, even if they got the 5+ yead dev cycle it wouldn't have been as good as GT. PD is way too experienced in the genre. |
*eyeroll*.....
What a fanboyish statement. I'm pretty sure you don't need car washes in a video game....
Seriously...they both good ( yet cocky) devs... if it wasn't for Forza, PD wouldn't even think of car damage or online videos. If it wasn't for GT, Forza wouldn't have proabbly existed. Fanboys just need to take the wool off their eyes and stop acting like there isn't room for either game.

Im thinking the 170 will have an advanced damage model, and the other cars will have a more rudamentary damage model.
What people don't seem to realize is that there are only so many cars in the world that belong in video games, for their history, performance, looks, etc.
Gran Turismo is covering just about all of them, it may seem like there are more cars out there, and there are. But they're cars that don't belong in video games, do you really want to race your moms purple grand caravan?

This.
Also, is racing a Prius or an electric car actually appealing to people? Just pick one of the dozen's of sub-compacts they'll throw in the game and hit mute for the same level of excitement.

I'm a fanboy for stating that Polyphony Digital is experienced in making racing simulators??? For your information, PD was founded in 1998 and the only games they've ever developed were racing sims.
