@ rol, octuple, but it will probably decuple or something in Japan. Well with Final Fantasy XIII it will probably get above 100k that week maybe more

the problem is that Nintendo has always had huge holiday sales, and I don't think the PS3 can take away from those sales. Yes they have FF13 which will increase PS3 sales tremendously for a little while, but the holidays have always been friendly for Nintendo even when were in 2nd place.

You do realize the PS3 actually sold more then the Wii in Japan for the first 4 and a half months of this yr right? Without a price cut that is. There is no delusions here, only opinions that are plausable.

the thing is that 100k isn't anything huge at that time of the year. Wii will easily get over 150k. Perhaps much higher if it can rebound from the poor showing last year. This holiday season looks much bigger for Wii in Japan, they actually have a solid lineup. Remember, games are what sell systems in Japan.

was about 3 months actually, they sold about the same amount over the first 4 and a half months. Price cuts have never had that much impact in Japan, PS3 held even with wii for so long because of big releases. Now the wii is taking the lead because of big releases. You'll remember the 360 going ahead of the PS3 for a while because of big releases. You won't remember the price cut that the 360 or PS3 had in Japan because there wasn't much of an impact.

As johnsobas says, the main factor is that Nintendo always has great holydays, so unless Gran Turismo 5 is going to be released this year I see it almost impossible. Anyway PS3 Slim sales should be a question of long-med term.

What console game do you want more, in terms of JP sales, than Final Fantasy XIII, maybe another Dragon Quest, but wasn't IX on DS?

yea it's gonna be huge, but what you have to understand is it is not only competing with the wii's releases, but with the holiday bump that the wii is gonna get. In December wii and DS sales rise dramatically, while Sony sales only rise marginally from November.
