for the record, I was refering to the price-drop and sales spike the PS2 enjoyed earlier this year, not when the PS2 slim was introduced.

I'm talking about the effects of price cuts, which is what you were refering to in your earlier post.

That being said, the whole wifi dongle is now becoming an issue. With the ps3 at 299$, if you need wifi to feed internet to your 360 it puts every 360 sku above the ps3's price level.

I don't get it. Please correct me if I am wrong.

PS3 price cut won't put PS3 above the 360 in weekly sales for a prolonged period of time because those who wanted it already would have gotten it?

Now what about when PS3 was outselling the 360 for like 36 straight weeks. 360 drops last year shouldn't have propelled the 360 past the PS3 in weekly sales up until now since everyone who wanted one already would have bought one right?

Is this what I am reading? Please oh god say it's not. That is just silly.

I didn't know only 50M or so people existed in the world.

 

People wait for price drops all the time. To think otherwise is just nonsense.

No more excuses, if the ps3 can't catch and pull ahead of the 360 with the price cut everyone was crying for;The ps3 will be in third place for good this time around and only a shadow of how the ps brand once was. No more excuses

I think MS will wait to see what happens.

Selling Playstations is one thing but it still needs DEVS to harness the power properly. Ive lost count of the number of PS3 games with screen tearing and dodgy frame rates or games that have had graphical effects removed just to retain playability.

The 360 may be technically inferior to the PS3 but its got it where it counts. Games, loads of em.
That coupled with a powerful GPU has let the machine with 2 year older tech still capable of standing toe to toe with the PS3.

Sony needs to play up Blu Ray its the only firm advantage their console has and they need to exploit the fact.
