Of course not. Uncharted, Shadow of the Colossus, LBP, Star Wars Battlefront II, Age of Empires II, Age of Mythology, the entire R&C series and many more are among my favourite games, and all are rated E to T.

Wow, you have just won the thread. LBP and R&C were my biggest ones, but the others are great examples as well.

No, games don't have to be mature to be fun. I think they're just a different kind of fun, for lack of a better term. For example, playing Resistance 2 co-op is fun (IMO), but it's not fun in the same way as slapping someone into an electrified object in LBP is (IMO). I guess it depends on your taste, but games certainly don't have to be mature to be fun.

Kantor; you like Age of Mythology and AoEII? You're my hero!!!!

You, my friend, have awesome taste, except for your inexplicable love for Resistance 2.

Wait, Uncharted is between E-T?

*checks*

WTH I thought it was M all this time D: Didn't know it was T.

OT: Don't know why this should be asked when there's an obvious answer...

You would have known that if you owned a PS3 and not a Wii.

You also would have been able to play Kingdom Hearts 3

Maybe the question you should ask is why does the whole game industry, excusing Nintendo, think mature games are the only part of the market that matters. Its these devs that are the problem. So narrow minded that they neglect to notice just how successful Nintendo games are.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I blame my blind fanboy obsession with Insomniac Games.

Seriously though, R2 is all about the co-op. The campaign wasn't as good as the first thanks to the lack of weapon wheel (and I preferred the way they told the story in the first game and Retribution) and some rather linear boss fights (-cough- Leviathan!). I also preferred the health system in the first game; it was a nice balance between the regeneration so common in FPS games and the traditional health bar. The multiplayer is good, but the co-op is the reason why I love that game.

Mario Kart DS is one of the funnest games ever and its not even T.

different strokes for different folks

no, but they don't need to be so kiddy either

Not at all. I do think gamers need balance. I need to play more mature games in addition to my Wii Sports, LBP, Flower, etc.
