And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Houser brothers - who created GTA, the first sand-box game. (right?)
Hideo Kojima - for creating the stealth genre

To be fair TENCHU was the first

The original Metal Gear launched in like 1987 on the MSX at a time where action games where all about shooting all the badies in your way. The MSX was only popular in Japan and the Netherlands, so it wasn't untill the step-child NES port that all gamers across the globe could experience it.

Actually the first stealth game I can think of is the original Wolfenstein. That predated MG by several years I think.

Tetsuya Nomura
Yoshinori Kitase

Tetsuya nomura: character designer and director, make me cry ith FF7 -8- 10 KH, and likely do it again with 13 and versus.
the guy can do some caracters connection that are no where from be seen.
only tite kubo stand to him in my eyes.
Hideo Kojima: EVERY of his game it's perfect. his games are EPIC.
Fumito Ueda: Combine hideo and nomura you have fumito, ICO and shadow of the colossus are deep stories, yet simple characters that can still move you, and epic.

honorable mentions:
ted price - imsomniac games CEO, company that gave us spyro, resistance and rachet and clank, he also been involve against the censorship of video games.

yeah they all japanese, americans never have created a character in the ranks of sephiroth or ICO for me, they stories are written by american TV series writers, space marines, star trek, all characters are never memorable. IMO.

I'll let the list run through tomorrow and Wednesday, then I'll begin with the next stage.

Also, after considering it, I've decided perhaps a voting system WOULD work better. That way, a person with more time on their hands couldn't overrule another person's opinions just because they only had five minutes to post that day.

the fact that people seem to be nominating people that just made games they like wrather than truly influentual people tells me that this is going to be a farce.
