What?
I do not think that it's Karma. Nintendo's portable console business is very strong and has great third part support. This gen developers thought that the battle for first place was going to between Sony and Microsoft and thought the Wii would be an after thought. This is why when the sales of the Wii took off developers were saying " if we knew the Wii was going to be this successful we would of had something ready for it."

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

They were pretty hard to work with for a very long time.
^Third parties deserved the harsh treatment from Nintendo.
After all, third parties almost killed the industry in the Atari days. (Along with Atari themselves, lol)

I'm curious, how did third parties help to do this? I know there were way too many consoles out there, but that was the consoles.
It was the games too. Every third party company and their dog wanted to make games to make a quick buck for game consoles (The Atari in particular) So there became so many rushed low quality games that there were no way of knowing that there were good games too, so interrest in video games faded. The biggest problem was that the industry bacame flooded with shovelware.
I LOVE ICELAND!
