Forums - Nintendo - Pachter: Core Wii audience only want Nintendo games

So this should mean the Conduit should sell exactly zero copies.

Please. Wii gamers aren't on their knees begging for games from Nintendo. They usually supply the best, but they don't supply them all.

Actually, Core Wii audience buy all the good exclusives they can get for that console. It just happens that most first party titles > third party titles.

You pretty much summed it up =D.

I'm a Wii-only gamer who only buys first-party titles. I only ever bought first-party for the N64, GC, GBC and GBA.

And I bought the Conduit. And it was a good game and worth the purchase.

out of 7 wii games (retail, boxes those kinds of games) only 3 are nintendo. so in his face

You know, I think what he says isn't so wrong. It depends a bit how you interpret it, but in some ways, it is true for me.

I would call myself a core gamer, and I care the most about Nintendo titles. I'm not really a fan of shooters and such. If I were, I'd probably buy another console next to my Wii, so a game like the Conduit would be in a heavy concurrence. But I am not, and I only buy shooter if they seem to be really amazing and above average. So either way, the Conduit has a problem with me.

Now the question is how you define core games. Because if titles similar to Mario/Zelda/Metroid come out, I'm gonna buy them, like Okami for example. But lately, hardcore games were usually shooters or action games like Conduit, Madworld, House of the Dead etc.

No we just don't want Nintendo games but since they do the majority of all the good games it might look that way.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Maybe, we have soon Wii Fps,Mario of War and ZeldaZone?

Sales speak from themselves. But Conduit was BAD game.It ain't anything that Fps fans must own.
Even most of Wii users must have played Fps games on Ps2 or Pc..(I HOPE)
And if you compare Conduit to Fps games of Ps2 (Red Faction etc) it ain't so diffrent.
And if you have played Half Life or Counter Strike or even new games like Cod 4 on Pc...

But, if they start make more games like Madworld...We will see what the truth about Wii:s core gamers really is.But when?I can't name but No more heroes 2.

You pretty much summed it up =D.

Then their are not many core gamers considering the sales of games like Maworld and No More heroes =p.

So how does this explain Monster Hunter Tri then?

So if you put game series that has sold millions in Japan to most popular homeconsole you can't expect it to sell half million?
