I don't understand how New Software can boost the Wii's Sales....

If somebody didn't buy a Wii when Wii Sports came out why would they buy one when Wii Sports Resort came out?

If somebody didn't buy a Wii when Super Mario Galaxy came out why would they buy one when Super Mario Galaxy 2 comes out?

If somebody didn't buy a Wii when Twilight Princess came out why would they buy one when Zelda Wii comes out? (If you bought it for gamecube i guess thats a reason)

somebody explain it to me

it keeps the momentum going.

Console sales are all about momentum, check some old Iwata interviews from the Gamecube days.

if wii get a resident evil 2 remake il get one

The games give you different things… you might not have liked the first mario because yoshi was not there but now that he is you want to buy a Wii for that :P …eh yeah some people think like that

TP might not have had VO in it but the new one might and with a darker story it might be more appealing to people.

Well that’s my take on it anywho :P

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Well maybe they didn't just want Super Mario Galaxy or Wii Sports or Twilight Princess. But now that sequels for them come out they can have both to play :)

First of all, don't forget New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
Or the Wii Vitality Sensor.

Otherwise, I can understand where you're coming from. Sequels to current generation games do not usually push consoles that much. But there are still people out there that are interested in the Wii and that would buy it for each of those games that you just talked about.

Twilight Princess might be regarded as a gamecube game, and many that might have bought a Wii for it might not have, for that reason. A Zelda developed for Wii might garner more attention, and from a different set of people.

Wii Sports Resort is everything that Wii Sports wasn't, and has already sold quite a few Wii systems.

Super Mario Galaxy... I have no idea how that is supposed to sell to new customers.

This is invisible text!

People get really interested in a game and then talk about how they want to buy one. Days, weeks, and months go by, and the excuse arises that you just haven't had the resources. On top of that, the excitement is wearing off.

Then a sequel comes out. You now have some money, and it becomes an impulse buy.

People get excited about new games, and buy a console for it.

The stronger a system's lineup gets, the more people become interested in the machine and see it as a viable purchase.

My oldest brother is considering buying a Wii once Galaxy 2 and Metroid are out, and will buy TP, Galaxy and other older first party titles because they should be cheaper by then. He'll also have plenty of games to use with the system.

I guess there could be other people in a similar situation. People hold off until they're sure there's enough to make the purchase worth while.
