It´s an amazing game, but it´s no better than Metal gear solid 1 and 3. Of course the graphics are 720p and the camera is much better, but it´s the same game since the beginning of the series... maybe i prefer the first one. Anyway, it´s the best game this generation so far.

i didnt beat MGS4 yet, i am half way in to the game, so far i think i like MGS3 a bit more, the story of the boss was just awesome.

HEY! I experienced MGS4 without any other MGS game either. Its the FUCKING best game EVER PERIOD FOR LIFE OMFG I THANK GOD EVERY DAY DUE TO IT. (Get what I mean?). After beating it about 20 times(Litterly). Bought MGS1-2 and 3 on Tradera(swedish ebay Lol XD). Won 1 and 2 not 3 though (yet, to addicted to my current PS3 games to be botherd to play PS2 ones).

MGS4 is fucking sick and I feel SOOOO sorry for those that never played the game from start to finish.

My order so far:
MGS4-MGS1-MGS2

Why? Because I yet have to play MGS3 XD and well MGS2 was the worst. The end was so confusing to me. MGS1 was really good. I just got annoyed running back and forth XD but the story was really good. Id probably say its a tie between that and MGS4. MGS4 is 1 because It was the first MGS game I played and well shooting was no longer akward like gamespot said xD. It was a stealth / ACTION game :). Amaazing. No sorry MASTERFUL.

Good effort, but pretty much everyone on this site owns MGS4 by now.

I almost posted something really troll-like (unintentionally) here. I'll just say that, in my opinion, the series peaked with MGS 1 and has gotten consistently less good each iteration since.
