The frst 2/3 of American McGee's Alice is the definition of mind-blowing beauty.

There are so many beautiful games out there (my favorite kind :) but to think of all the ones i've played on the top of my head is a task left to do sometime else. So i will tell ones I remember. (Some of these I haven't played obviously)

Yoshi's Island (SNES)

Resident Evil 4 (Gamecube)

Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)

Muramasa: The Demon Blade (Wii)

Heavenly Sword (PS3)

Heavy Rain (PS3) (OMG this game oozes beauty!)

Alan Wake (360) (Is this game exclusive to Xbox 360?)

Well thats what I can think of for now.

NINTENDO

nintendo forever . . .

That is a BEAUTIFUL game (@Trine)

Present: Uncharted
Future: Uncharted 2 or GT5

Games whose graphics I really like(ed):

Genesis -
Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2
Earthworm Jim

SNES

Terranigma
Secret of Evermore
Earthbound
Chrono Trigger
Donkey Kong Country trilogy
Kirby Superstar

Playstation -
Final Fantasy 8

Dreamcast -
Skies of Arcadia
Sonic Adventure
Soul Calibur

DS -
Phoenix Wright Trilogy
Professor Layton

The HD generation may have some high quality graphics; but when they involve guns, tanks, and lots of brown, I find them to be unappealing. I find a lot of US games go for boring art style while Japanese and European developed titles are often much nicer.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Metal Gear Solid 4- Guns of The Patriots

Black Women Are The Most Beautiful Women On The Planet.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

The first Gears of War blew my mind when we started seeing the first video footage of the game in action. I remember downloading video and thinking "holy shit, I cant believe what I am seeing".

I am enjoying each post here, and you really can go wrong with any of the titles identified.

That being said, the first Gears footage I had seen was when the 360 was new was when I really felt that the next generation of graphics had arrived. Now though, people consider it just an afterthought, but at the time it was amazing.

I agree until Gears came out all the next gen games were 'meh' Gears of War was for me the first game that looked next gen.

I'd have to say the best looking games though are Muramasa and Wind Waker.
