but now on the wii, that minority has become minuscule, more so than it's ever been, and yet it has remained some what constant on the PS3 and 360, odd turn of events really.

Isn't the same, these guys were working in a big, fat company that doesn't care about "art" or "what people love to do" they only care about money and getting the job done. You don't have liberties to express or doing your own stuff. If these guys wanted to do their own work they should make their own company.

I don't agree with you.
And your comparasion is not right. Video games is a business.

You using the wrong analogy friend. A better one would be an artist who kept wanting to paint the same type of art over and over again giving only slight improvements to each version. Then along comes another artist who paints something emphasising different artistic values and makes a ton of money because of it. The first artist then declares that he doesn't want to make then new type of art and keeps doing what he was doing.
"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

I'd be glad if they were extinct, finally industry could have move on forward without hardcore bragging etc. Never gonna happen though.

Excellent post - that's exactly why these talented people decided to take a risk and leave the company.
"The dynamics changed with the launch of the Wii--play and fun was coming back in,"
Are you fucking with me? When were video games about something else? The sooner that studio dies off the better I say.

So I'm guessing they just didn't wanna try new things...
Their loss...
EDIT: Just wanted to add that if they don't want to work on Wii, but instead on PS360/PC, there's nothing wrong with that.
What I mean by "their loss" is that they were running away from a chance to try something different, but there's nothing wrong with wishing to stay with what they're familiar with and simply improving on that. If it works for them, I don't see the problem.
4 ≈ One
But, they still have two HD consoles to develop for, or were they forced to work exclusively with the Wii?
"Before the Wii, sports games were used to show how realistic games had become over the previous year". What about gameplay? As long as graphics improve, gameplay can be the same? Imo an improvement in gameplay and fun factor are far more important.

EA changes their workers duties quite often I guess. One day your're doing grass on a HD version of Madden the other day you're working on the iPhone version.
