im hopin that the low ps3 sales are due to the rumours otherwise thats shocking!

i think 360 will outsell ps3 next week in japan.

There is no way PS3 sales would drop 30% in one week for any reasons other than the rumours that a price cut will most likely be announced on the 18th August and/or that PS3's are in short supply (as they are being phased out for a new SKU).

But do the casuals really know about a price cut?

Actually, in Japan, that 30% drop still only means from 8500 to 6000, that is 2500 units difference. 

I would think that Japan, being a fairly tech savy nation, would probably be more aware than most of the rumours, especially as they are so strong. Obviously not everyone is aware otherwise almost 6000 PS3's would not have been bought last week. The numbers speak for themselves though, a 30% drop over one week (when nothing was boosting sales in previous weeks) really can't be explained by anything except price cut rumours or supply constraint.

Well whatever can be said, those numbers are awful. And this means that the writing is on the wall. Sony needs to cut the price on the PS3. I don't care how they do it, if they don't have the money. Maybe take a loan from Warren Buffet or something.

360 did well with both gears of war 2 and magna carta 2 out its sold a little more than normal.
