Forums - Gaming - Army of Two: 40th Day is... *drumroll*... delayed to Q1 2010!

http://computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=221287

"Electronic Arts has passed along a release date of January 12, 2010 in North America and January 8, 2010 in Europe for the sequel to the 2008 co-op shooter.

"Army of Two: The 40th Day features a more robust and redesigned multiplayer experience with four unique multiplayer modes including 'Extraction'," says EA.

"Extraction' pits a team of four players against a series of unique enemy waves as they move from point to point in the ruined city. Players must strategise as a unified team to combat the different forces of the 40th Day Initiative while trying to get out alive.""

Okay, this is getting ridicoulous. Why the hell did anyone think releasing a shooter in early january would be a good idea? <_<

Q1 2010 is officially the new time-of-the-year-where-people-will-still-buy-games-but-doesn't-have-a-call-of-duty-release-in-it.

*Sound of disappointed audition*

Okay, I don't care how big Modern Warfare 2 is, but it's still just one game. Yes, it is huge, but it's almost certain that any given buyer will only buy the one copy of it. Look at how many games are piling up in Q1 2010! Publishers are sending their games to their death...

I didn't even know a sequel was in the works.

I guess we are all going to have to buy IOU's for Christmas. I've always been a proponent of spreading releases though out they year. However, this is getting way out of hand. At this rate, the only thing available will be preorders for the games were wanted to play.

Next year we'll get another wave of delays as everyone realises there is too many games to release too.

wow . Insecure developers.

Q1 2010
oh god, i better start selling my kidney.

Q1 2010 is looking more busy then Xmas, but without the whole Christmas sales thing. Fair enough MW2 and Assassin's Creed 2 are going to sell a stupid amount, but Army of Two should really be able to stand on it's own four feet.

EA are launching 3 new IP's over the xmas holiday, maybe they're just worried about the focus being taken off of them?

I didn't even know that it was going to release this year. It's a good thing that it was delayed.
