I would avoid them unless you like playing games without knowing what the hell is going on (Unless you understand Japanese that is). If you think that the gameplay alone will validate your purchase, then go right ahead.

I would just stick to playing all of the English releases before you start importing though.

I know japanese ^^ I regularly import games. I wouldn't think of importing an RPG if I didn't know what the hell was going on :)

Ah, alright then. Might I recommend the PSP version of Phantasia then? It's much, much better than the gimped GBA version.

Get hearts, then wait for the Tales of Innocence patch. Hearts is the better game btw. I have both and they are great games.

What's the Tales of Innocence patch? O.o

Oops forgot to put translation before patch. Here is a video of it so far.

This all assuming you don't know japanese though.

Ohh, okay. Thanks a bunch for the consideration, but shouldn't be a problem for me ^^ So Hearts is better, huh? Then I should probably play Innocence first so I don't compare it to Hearts all the time, yeah?

Well the games aren't really similar enough for you to compare. You'll be comparing Innocence to 3d console tales of games more. Hearts plays like a faster version of Phantasia or Destiny, and improves their gameplay a lot, so I would wait until you get those two first. Story-Wise it is all preference. Both games have pretty good stories, and while I like hearts story better some others may like innocence. That is about it really. Since you didn't play Phantasia or Destiny yet,  get innocence.

Ahh, okay. Thanks a bunch, I'll wait with Hearts until I play Phantasia and Destiny, then. While we're on the subject, I was thinking of getting the PS2 remake of Tales of Destiny, is there any notable difference (besides that I'll have to play it in japanese), if you know?

I only have the PS1 version, but I think there is some added content, and slightly improved graphics. Actually after searching I came across this youtube video and here is what is in the description.

Tales of Destiny Director's Cut is a remake of one of my all time favorites, Namco's Tales of Destiny for the PSone. The Director's cut for the Sony PS2 (Playstation 2) offers you updated graphics, more cutscenes a lot more voice acting and just generally more stuff. The game in essence is still the same though, so all in all it's a lot better than the original which means a lot as the original was just fantastic. If you have never played Tales of Destiny now's your chance and you should not miss out!

Well that sounds fantastic! I'll probably go with that then.

@Catcus, I was planning on playing the PSX-version together with atleast one friend. Is it much different from the other versions?

I'm not totally sure about this, but I believe it's the same as the PSP verion but without full voice work. Either way, both are a clear step up from the GBA version.

I'd get Hearts. I heard that Innocence wasn't very good but much better than Tempest.

I have no clue never followed either much since they not been announced for America yet. If you can read japanese get both if not good luck trying to grasp the concept of the story.

How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

No wonder you don't have time to play all those games, you keep getting new ones :D

Innocence is the best Tales of EVER made. Wait for Tales of Graces, for NOW is Innocence.

You should like 2D Tales if you like 3D.

You're getting ToI, ToDR, and ToH right? There's an English 2D game you should play, Tales of Eternia on PS1/PSP. It's called Tales of Destiny II over here but it's not a sequel to Destiny. The sequel to Destiny is Destiny 2 (notice the number instead of the numeral) on PS2. Eternia is great. There's also Rebirth on PS2 which I heard is very good and is also 2D but it's JP only =/ Same with Destiny 2. There's also Legendia on PS2 and English that I'm planning to get but it's not supposed to be too good (though a main complaint I heard is the battle system. If I can get through ToD PS1's battle system I should enjoy this one :P)

I'll see if I try them or not, I mostly want to play Destiny because I saw this guy Lion Magnus in Versus and he looked ****ing awesome :D Anyway, while we're on the subject, how good is Dawn of the New World? It's still not out in EU, but I'll probably get it when it is, should I like it if I love Symphonia?
