Forums - Sony - Uncharted 2 fills Blu Ray disc!!

What, nobody said these things I am about to say yet?!

1. The first Uncharted took up all the space on a 25 GB BD, it's all about building for the console. With the 360, you have more limited space, so you have to compress things more, whereas you don't need to compress as much on the PS3, because you have much more space. The major benefit is of course that you don't have to spend a lot of power uncompressing

2. R&CF:ToD was like 18 GB or so I believe...

Anyone know how long the playthrough is supposed to take... Uncharted was about 8-10 hours right? How many Gigs was that? - could give an indication.

Filled an entire BD, you can't use it for any indication of this kind.

@ kowenicki

Indeed it did.

oh....

Hang on... how!? It was quite a short game really. So I guess filling the disc means bugger all then.

Exactly. And I could have sworn I saw an interview where some ND guy said they filled it, but now I can only find an interview where some ND guy says they filled it 91%. Still...

PR spin. They said the same about MGS4 and it filled 30/50gb.
Every dev wants to give the impression that they are getting the most out of the hardware.

this is one place where we get to see advantage of blue-ray

I don't really see much of an advantage.  Having uncompressed data doesn't all of the sudden make a better game.

Ofcourse its a advantage, having all that extra space gives more possibilities when making a game.

Thats why MGS4 is exclusive to PS3.

MGS4 is not 30gb, u wont see the rest on ur computer coze its only readable on the PS3 system

Actually i heared MGS4 is 70GB compressed to aroung 46GB, and that why it uses multi installs.
