Largely (but not completely) due to the games produced this gen.

1. Insomniac
2. Polyphony Digital
3. Naughty Dog
4. Team Ico
5. Guerilla Games

Team ICO haven't even released a game this gen, Polyphony haven't released a full one, Guerilla and ND have each released one. Only Insomniac has released four

Exactly why Insominiac are at the top and Naughty Dog above Team Ico. Team Ico and Polyphony make the list through past accolades alone and because of their sheer awesomeness! Oh, and Guerilla have only released 2 in total for Sony and only this gens game was actually good... but I prefer Uncharted and SotC so they came 5th, lol.

Guerilla released three for Sony, including Killzone: Liberation for PSP. That was somewhere between KZ1 and KZ2 in quality, I believe.

Insomniac and Naughty Dog are pretty much equal in my eyes. If Insomniac had continued to make a Ratchet every year, or even had made a new IP which was just as awesome as Uncharted, and made a Ratchet every two years, they would easily top Naughty Dog for me. Resistance: Fall of Man seemed original from what I played of it, but Resistance 2 was a step in completely the wrong direction. Away from originality and individuality and closer towards CoD4 and Halo 3. I do prefer Ratchet to Jak, but I would rather have Uncharted than both Resistance games combined. Also, Naughty Dog made Crash, and Crash > Spyro.

My favourites are Santa Monica because God of War is awesome. It and its sequel are two of my favourite games of all time, along with Shadow of the Colossus from Team ICO. Those two studios are pretty much in a class of their own. Then come Insomniac and Naughty Dog, one above the other depending on my mood, and then Sony Bend, who everyone seems to forget about. Perhaps you know them better as Eidetic? The developers of Syphon Filter. While the first few haven't aged well, they were great for their time, and the PSP games are awesome too. Resistance Retribution was also decent, apparently. I want a PS3 Syphon Filter!

Oh yeah, forgot about Liberation, not a huge fan myself, still haven't completed it. I actually quite liked both Resistance games, especially 2 due to the co-op and the fact I love CoD games :P.

I forgot about Santa Monica and Bend, I'd love Syphon Filter PS3 too!

No offense, Eat Sleep & Play and Quantic Dream should not be on the list. They have not yet release a game! What if it turned out that you don't like their games, so then what! you gonna come back here and edit it out, that a foolish embarrassment. >.>

Ohh oh I should love this new company cause they haven't release a game but they're a new company!! *sigh*

Because Drake has ni- oh wait, that doesn't work here.

Eat Sleep Fucking Play was fucking founded by fucking David Jaffe, so it must be fucking awesome because he made God of fucking War and Twisted Fucking Metal.

As for Quantic Dream, they've already released Indigo Prophecy, though that wasn't PS-exclusive. But CGI-Quality made the list, and how can he not include the developers of Heavy Rain?

If David making a new GOW/TM then it will be fucking awesome, but it won't. I have my doubt if he's next game would be as awesome as GOW/TM. Plus it a much smaller team.

This thread is about PS-exclusive, you know it! So Quantic Dream should be off this list. Let keep it real!! *praying that CGI doesn't read this*

God of War is still being made by Santa Monica. The original was directed by David Jaffe. Then he left. People said "Argh! Without Jaffe the game will suck!" and Cory Barlog directed God of War II. It didn't suck. So everyone shut up when Cory Barlog left (why do they all leave?) and now Stig Asmussen is directing God of War III. I'm sure David Jaffe will help a bit, maybe Cory Barlog as well, but that'll probably just be a "Special Thanks". Eat Sleep Play is probably making Twisted Metal since even Wikipedia doesn't know what the hell happened to Incognito.

But I agree that Quantic Dream should be off the list. Especially since CGI didn't include Level 5.

Slant Six also shouldn't be on there. What have they made other than SOCOM: Confrontation? Which was nothing special.

Clap Hanz and BigBig really can't stand up to the others, but I guess they have to be there for the sake of completion. But who the hell is Sony Contrail?

Ah, found it. It's not Sony Contrail, just Contrail.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contrail_%28company%29

They made some semi-popular PS1 JRPGs, then a sequel on PS2, and nothing since 2001. But Wikipedia uses the word "is", so apparently they are still open. I wonder if they are developing something for PS3.

Even though I'm only going to list devs who are exclusive this gen, it's mostly because of works they did on the PS1 and PS2 - mainly because this gen's not over, and a lot of the real gems aren't out, yet.

1 - Naughty Dog. Crash Bandicoot is the reason why I got into gaming, after I went around a friend's and he was playing Crash 2. I got a PS1 that Christmas along with Crash Bandicoot, Rayman, Track and Field (mainly for my dad, looking with hindsight), Street Fighter (forget which one - something like EX+ Alpha, or something), and Micro Machines v3. Needless to say, Crash was my top played game, and me and my dad went on to complete the first three games together, within relatively quick succession.

I got my PS2 a few Christmases later along with Dead or Alive 2, Crash: WoC and Jak and Daxter. I loved Jak and Daxter so much, and the sequels moreso. My dad didn't really join in with the gaming that gen, really only playing the occasional Fifa match, or something like that.

I bought my PS3 on launch, eagerly awaiting the launch of Uncharted - and it did not disappoint! My dad also got back into it, and he's completed the game a couple of times over (though, saying that, it can be painstaking watching him make the same mistakes over and over - but he seemed to have a hell of a load of patience). I'm really looking forward to Uncharted 2 - and I'm hoping my dad will actually pay for it - seeing as he will play the game himself so much - but the odds on that happening are slim to none.

2 - Insomniac. Although I never found their games to be as great as Naughty Dog's, Spyro and Ratchet were still great franchises. Resistance 1 was a good effort on the old FPS front, and Resistance 2 built up quite well on a solid franchise (though, I'm sure many would disagree with me on that). Insomniac also score points for the sheer rate at which they pump out such high quality titles (what is it... 3 Ratchets and 2 Resistances in 3/4 years (I actually can't work out the years - but my brain is fucked - I had a party last night, didn't get to bed until 11am, and only slept for a few hours before I had to get up).

3 - Sucker Punch. Although I don't own inFamous yet, I did enjoy the demo and have spent some time playing the game around a friends, and this has been enough to warrant a purchase in the coming months. But, Sucker Punch are mainly on here for their fantastic Sly series. The gameplay was some of the best I had seen, and I absolutely loved the art style and character design, it's a shame these games didn't get the same kind of recognition as Jak and Ratchet, but, I still loved them.

4 - SCEE London. These guys have been Sony's biggest breach into the casual market. Most of the EyeToy stuff as created by them, and they're also responsible for the Singstar series. Eyepet looks very interesting, and if it turns out good, it will be what causes me to make the purchase of a Playstation Eye.

5 - Media Molecule. This was actually quite a hard one for me, mainly because a lot of my favourite games/developers aren't exclusive, and so I searching for reasons. However, LittleBigPlanet was quite a good game, and seems to be a roaring success for Sony. That, and they got Stephen Fry to do the voice work, and that's just epic.
