Smells like a win for the Wii. I don't plan on getting this game, but who knows. It may be so great that I won't have a choice.

If they keep moving stuff away from the PS3, you may not even have a choice on buying their games.

Indeed; If I were Microsoft (or Bill Gates) I'd pay some serious money to nab MGS4. And does anyone else feel that Nintendo just stole both Microsoft's (Halo 3) and Sony's (with the amazing 2008 lineup) thunder? I mean, everyone was like "hey Wii has a good lineup with SMG, SSBB, MP3,etc in 2007 but after that what else?". Nintendo seems even stronger in 2008 now... Scary stuff. |
You're kidding right? Nintendo has the weakest lineup of the 3 in 2008 (well I guess SSBB will help if it's delayed in North America until next year) but so far the 360 has about 160 quality titles announced, the PS3 about 150 and the Wii about 55... So it's not like Monster Hunter 3, Mario Basebase (or whatever it's called), and some budget Wiiware titles are going to suddenly change all that. I mean feel free to gloat about Monster Hunter 3, but lets not get carried away.
Legend, I think you're in denial, most of those 150 titles (checked it on IGN) are also coming to 360 and a lot also to Wii. I'm not saying PS3 has a bad line-up, there are a lot good games left, but:
a. PS3 will lose big time coming holiday and has lost since its release
b. MH3 move is only the first of this kind of anouncements
c. Combine a and b: more games will move to Wii
d. Most games are also on 360, EA games are better suited to 360
e. PS3's big guns are not coming soon (MGS4 April, FF 2009?)
f. 2007 line up will be of importance in 2008 (people will still buy Halo3, SMG, SSBB etc)
g. Wii exclusives (coming): SSBB, SMG, NiGHTs, Fatal Frame, Monster Hunter 3, No More Heroes, Soul Calibur: Legends, Super Mario Kart, RE: UC, Ghost Squad, Kings Story, FF:CC (2x)
Looks like a great line-up to me (maybe a 360 fan could post those games)

All journeys begin with the first step, all games begin with the first move.
I agree that it is not wise to get carried away, but the effects of this change are not to be underestimated either.
This is a bad omen for Sony. Spin it however you like.
I just want to know where Sony was during this and what they're going to say about it. Nothing is set in stone... yet.

Go spread your MS FUD elsewhere :P. You seem completely to be completely out of touch with the Japanese market, which isn't surprising since you're an Xbox fan, so of course it would be hard to understand the import of this. MH3 is huge in Japan and this pretty much ensures the PS3 will not be able to make a respectable second place showing there. With the Wii totally dominating Japan Japanese devs will have to move a lot of their resources to it which will impact Western markets (longerterm, as in 2009/2010). It could even have longer term effects if Western devs choose to bloody themselves over the smaller yet much more expensive PS360 markets instead of joining the Japanese devs and Nintendo on the mega profit Wii train. And you know the Wii has the weakest lineup in 08 because you obviously know every game that will come out next year right now. Geeze, at least the Sony fanboys are funny in their meltdowns.
This is huge! And for all the people talking up ps3's future, you have to realize publishers can't wait for Sony to take the lead, they can't assume it'll happen either, they're going to move their franchises to the bigger user base. Heck if there team was having some problems with ps3 development, like lots of people are instead of spending another couple of million on a smaller userbase, why not move it to the Wii? Squeeze what you can out of the system, take advantage of the userbase in Japan, and get what you can. In my opinion this is a smart decision for Capcom, they had yet to give the Wii something big, especially after seeing how well they sold RE:4 Wii Edition. And this is huge for Nintendo, more so for there marketing skills to the third party, getting Monster hunter, getting Sonic for Smash was also awesome.
I also think this is a problem for the ps3 because they sort of need big established jrpgs to take over, they lost Dragon Quest they had before, now they lost MH, and FF is a long way off, and it will be much diluted with all the spin-off titles coming out on other systems.

I don't think Capcom removed it from their PS3 list by accident.
