Thanks John. That certainly helps clear things up. It's kind of funny that this news comes just hours after a heated debate about 3rd parties not caring about the Wii heh.

I was thinking the excact same thing.

If MH3 is exclusive to the wii then Nintendo would of payed an arm and a leg for it.
Nintendo Wii, not Microsoft Xbox360. All companies offer incentive for exclusives from large 3rd parties, it's normal but I've NEVER in all my years heard of Nintendo buying exclusives. If you're going to make claims like this prepare at least some evidence.

Dude, Mario and Sonic are going to the Olympics. The OLYMPICS. Who cares about a silly brawling match? Honestly.

I'm not sure if Nintendo paid for any subsidized development or not. Every company (including Nintendo) does it on occasion, but moving it to the Wii could have been an internal decision by Capcom based on just the sales of the consoles as well.

It is not easy to find any evidence for any game that went to an other console.

nintendo doesn't buy exclusives, but they can go easy on the royalties. royalties are always negotiable.

cutting $10 royalties in half essentially means a $5 million subsidy if the game sells a million copies.

the Wii is an epidemic.

Nope it isn't and that's why I made a microsoft claim in jest. Though looking at it, I can't really prove it was jest I suppose. God damned internet and it's inability to show sarcasim. My point is if you can't prove it you shouldn't even say it.

They may not buy an exclusive directly but they certainly subsidize development or publish games for 3rd party developers on occasion.  FFCC:CB is published completely by Nintendo.  So yeah, they offer development incentives just like anyone else.  They just don't do it as often.

I can remind me the time when Nintendo said they never wanted to work again with Square :s.
