Actually PSN has Burnout Paradise at 20$
yeah i looked at the price quickly today... no need to upgrade the old 20GB
all these games have much cheaper prices and ofter it's improved versions of the games that are for cheaper... this service is just a dumb rippoff for kids who have access to their parent's credit card.

I wanna see how the average consumer reacts to this. I have faith that people just wont blindly pay for an overpriced product just out of convenience. Hopefully we can send a message to MS and people like bobby kotik that the customer is still always right.
Weird, here in the states the prices are right in line with platinum hits pricing at retail, $19.99 to $29.99. ME is $19.99 and at that price is a great deal. Wat up with the rest of teh world?
It bears repeating... they need to price games LOWER than at retail stores, since you can't resell downloaded games (this effectively reduces their value, by the amount you get when trading in a used game).

I guess I'm lucky that I'm in the U.S. since I have no problem with paying 19.99 and 29.99 and I don't think anyone else in the US will either. It's too bad the prices in other countries seem too high. When I looked at the update the only thing I thought was, "what a great way to buy games". I use steam for PC games and now I can by my 360 games the same way.
this is why I dislike retail games going DD, they'll charge you premium rates...I like going to shops and getting a bargin, living down here in Australia can be expensive, but if you know where to look and are patient enough you can score new release a month on for like 80 bucks...usually I wait a little longer and get them for like 60 bucks....I do however like the PSN/Live type games, their small byte size games with a good price, Fat princess for 23 bucks is a bargin in my opinion.
I would suspect the disparity is due to the nature of the location rather then any ill will or greed on the part of Microsoft. I would wager that extra cost is primarily due to the nations involved. In that Microsoft is just passing the costs down the line. Microsoft is one of the few companies that is very avid about honoring all tax laws.
So your probably having your nations sales tax applied, and surcharges for infrastructure usage, and of coarse the size of the markets involved isn't helping either. You do need a set amount of money to maintain servers and staff. In other words it would probably be a bit higher due to the weak demand, but everyone else wants a piece of the action too.
Give them a little credit from what I understand gaming is expensive as hell down under, and I doubt its the game companies saying lets rob these people. Would anyone in the area no any thing about these local taxes or regulations that may be driving up the price.
Microsoft always applies my sales tax when I buy points. They are one of the few companies that actually do that. Most just pass the burden on to you to write off on your income tax filing. I know most people will never do that for online purchases, but what can I say I am a civic minded person I do fill that in when I remember. I like that Microsoft is law biding that way.
