I guess its possible. However I think the first next Gen console will be MS again, but I don't think thats gonna happen for a while.

@Bolded. What a weird thing that we're talking about how MS is barely beating Sony. If someone would have told me about the sales numbers right now back in 2004 I would have slapped them.
I don't think Sony will be first next gen, but I also don't think this will be for lack of trying. The extreme arrogance shown by Sony around the launch of the PS3 (most relevant to this is the "10-year plan" and "future-proof" rhetoric) indicates to me that they probably didn't start work on the PS3 successor right away, as they should have done. I don't doubt they've started by now, but they're playing catch-up: certainly their successor will be the last of the three to be ready.
Of course, both Nintendo and Microsoft have both stated that they want to extend this generation. That's good news for Sony, as it might buy them enough time to push the PS3's successor out the door to be first, but I doubt it. In a Microsoft-Nintendo staredown, one of them will blink first. I suspect that this will probably be Microsoft, as Nintendo has nothing to gain by it but Microsoft does (or at least believes that it does). I also believe that this will happen too soon for Sony to be ready, probably around 2012-2013.

I can see this happening...I dont know about a ps4 though. I can see an upgrade, something without a br player. I think sony learned from their mistake the first time.
Perhaps...unless M$ has been spending all of those R&D $$$ on new tech for a console...

i would, just tell me the price of each console it would be easy to tell you the outcome.
brand name have managed to make sony survive, a 600$ console.
I think, Sony will either release a new console
A) before the end of 2011, or
B) not at all.
Microsoft will either
A) try to take Natal as a serious relaunch, or
B) Literally launch it with a new xbox in late 2010-11
Nintendo will either
A) try to innovate with new peripherals, for many years, or
B)release a new console around 2010 with slightly better graphics and one significant innovation.
