I mean all we have seen is from europe and philipine. Why isn't anything being leaked from Gamestop or EBgames?

I just find this kinda wierd.

I think its more retailers are typically big chains in the USA. As bigger corporations, they probably have tighter policies regarding leaks and stuff. Smaller retailers are run more informally, so leaks might not be as tightly policed.

Although there is the flipside of the argument, by virtue of its size a bigger corporation is harder to police. But :-/ it's just my two cents.

It's probably not coming to US right away. One factor might be because of the weak US dollar and relatively stronger euro. Could also be that they can't make enough slims to do a launch in europe and us at the same time.

Thank you for pointing this out. I think a number of members have noticed this, but have been very shy about bringing it forward. Mostly due to the fact that nobody wants to hear it, but you would expect this to be online in North America as well. The reality is that you can only police information so well. Do to good a job, and you actually do more damage then good.

Sony needs to be sending out merchandising information. Retailers need item information. They need to be booking advertising space. They need to be doing guest spots on programs. They need to keep developers in the loop. Without that it would be a blindsiding disaster.

For those saying it will be regional that would be a disaster. Sales of the console would dwindle as consumers just waited the launch out for their regions. That would actually decrease sales of the machine. They would lose in some markets to win in others, and as I have said a hundred times Sony has a razors margin in North America. They can't afford to give the competition two or even three months of free reign, because they will use it to push Sony off of the shelves. Most especially now when Microsoft is releasing ODST next month. That is just a really bad idea.

I am not for giving Sony too much credit so I suppose it is possible, but damn that would just be a epic failure. I mean if your going to release it in one or two markets. Then North America is the place you need to do it. Get out of the dog house rather then get more comfortable some place where you are safe.

It is a anomaly, and if we do not see a leak within the next few days be it a advertiser or a photo on some order screen. Then I am thinking this may just be one epic hoax.

If the PS3 slim is indeed true, it´s weird...all those leaks from European retailers and sites but none from NA?

Like Dodece said, NA is the region where Sony would need a slim/price cut the most, so what gives?

It's probably because all the people that would've leaked the information lost their jobs before they could because the economy is so bad.
