I think that originalted with David Bowie, but I've read people say it about many other artists (Mick Jagger, Marilyn Manson, etc.)

Like I said before, I'm not claiming that she 100% isn't, but read this:

"Love you Japan! Pokerface just went #1! Thanku!!. My show was so good last night. I just had to go home and suck my own hermie dick, suckka"

That sounds really sarcastic, as if she is joking around about the accusations. I find it really hard to take that seriously.

Mark my words though. When the Lady Gaga craze passes, and another female pop artist who has overly sexual themes and lyrics comes around, we're going to see this again.
