Forums - Sony - Fat Princess? Downloads? Digital Copys...BIG PROBLEMS for gamers

Somehow considering resale value on a $15 game never really crossed my mind, but then I'm not one to sell a game for a handful of dollars unless I just want to dump it because it's that bad.

About $20 (about two movie tickets or a round of pints) is the point at which I almost don't care how much "value" in dollars per hour I get for my money if a game is playable enough for me to want to return to it more than a few times.

I prefer to buy DD PC games through Steam and resell value on any of them has never been a factor (although technically, licenses can be "gifted" to other Steam users), mainly because there really isn't much of a market for used PC games. At that point, people usually just steal them online.

What's nice about DD games (depending on the platform) is that you have access to them on any system if you are the type of person who owns several systems or often play on systems owned by someone else.

As for the PSN DD system, it's really easy to abuse the hell out of it (installing on five systems owned by five different users) making the games practically free if you have a decent PS3 network of friends. I'd say that SCE's system is generous to the point of being flawed.

Around the Network

I've kinda lost interest in the game.

4 ≈ One

I'd only buy it at the insistence of those on my friends list who really wanted to play

I've already bought a bunch of PSN games this month that I've barely scratched the surface of.

Fat Princess is awesome, but I wish I could say the same about the online aspect.

i am lucky i guess, i managed to online even with connection problems, but it was hard.

now my connection it's fixed i can get online easy, i managed to get in games with 20+ people

Around the Network

because of the lag, i actually enjoyed Shatter alot more than Fat Princess.

i just wish they add split screen, online gaming is getting really old to me....

So here is my question. It seams to me that noone has thought much about past this gen. When the PS4 comes out and you want to play your PS3 games that you downloaded, wouldnt you be screwed if you game shared to everyone? You wouldnt have any downloads left. Could be a problem when we get there for the people who decided to steal...share there games.

While I lost interest in the game pretty quickly, I've had my share of $50 purchases that really made me regret it. At $15 I really can't complain too much, considering if you did purchase a full retail game at retail price and hated it you'd probably lose more than $15 after trading it in at some game store or through ebay after fees and all the junk.

David Ortiz said he never took steroids but I don't believe him.

lol its intresting to see how many people liked the game and who didnt after everyone was all over it, i gta say i been playing abit more and its getting alot better
still no online problems yet (fingers crossed)

And your answer is any PS3 can be deactivated, meaning user accounts on any given console can be deleted and user privileges (access to user account purchases) are no longer accessible on that console.

User account (and purchases) can then be activated on a new console.

As for the whole "I want to make sure I can still use my PSN account in another five years on the next playstation" concern, I'd have to say that the likelihood of me playing $5 or $10 DD games I bought years ago will probably make it a non-issue. If so, consider that some of the best stretched entertainment dollars I've ever spent. That being said, I would expect SCE to keep the same user account data for PSN accounts transferable to their next generation console.

Of course if you were using a "free" activation from someone else's account, you never actually bought the game with your own user account billing information and don't actually own it. So, keep your old PS3 if you want to keep playing your free games installed via someone else's user account, or buy them on your own account.
