Forums - Sales - Would Monster Hunter 3 have sold more on NDS?

It is clear that the best platform for Monster Hunter is PSP. It has a huge fanbase and is the platform that has popularized the franchise.

Last week the latest chapter Monster Hunter 3 was succesfully released on Wii selling according to Famitsu about 583k copies. So my question is. Would Monster Hunter 3 have sold considerably more on NDS? or maybe NDS is not the most suitable platform for Monster Hunter.

I really don't have an answer, I'm sure it would have sold a lot more on PSP, that's obvious, but seeing the great success of at least its first week on Wii I'm not too sure it would have sold more on NDS.

I don't think it's a question of a platform's gamer demographics, as the series clearly brings it's fans to the platform. I think the main problem is that the games 3d large world big monster gameplay just couldn't be squeezed in to the DS. At least not properly. So no, I don't think it would sell as well on the DS because it wouldn't be the mega selling game series that it is now.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

And it will sell even more on the PSP in the form of MHP3

Like others have said, DS wouldn't be the same MH people love. So order of how things would be sales wise I think would be...PsP>>Wii>>>Ps3>360>DS

Nope...but on PSP hell yea

No, the limitations of the platform would take away what makes the game fun. (huge world with endless things to do)

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."
