Forums - Gaming - Gamers boycotting Activision

If this is successful, I would say the "best case scenario" would be Activision shutting down Infinty Ward, wow! What a win for us gamers!

People from the UK... your currency collapsed. Deal with it.

The GBP has risen back to around 2003 levels - which was the average just before the big boost (I think it was more the dollar falling). One thing's for sure, game prices didn't fall during that time.

If you had a business, and were selling things at a profit and big quantity, would you drop your prices?

I understand if you don't like the new prices... If Activision sells too few games in UK I'm sure they'll drop the prices again.

I don't like it when firms use short term currency fluctuations to make long term changes to pricing.

I understand why they do it, though. But it screws the consumer.

55.00 British Pounds = 91.77 U.S. Dollars

That's over 30 dollars more than games are here in the US. I probably agree with him but I'm not getting MW2 for other reasons.

^_^

I'm going to buy 2 copies just to stick it to the boycotters!

I'll boycott Activision, but not Blizzard. A Diablo 3 boycott is gaming suicide if you ask me. Activision does'nt make any games I like so they can stuff it up their ass. :o

Sorry, but the only thing a boycott like that would do is hurt smaller games. MW2 is not going to be affected. Either is Marvel Ult Alliance 2

The silliest excuse for a boycott ever. Well for the most part... they have all been excuse. Really it seems people are unhappy with capitalism and well if you are American that is a death sentence haha.

Personally, games probably should be more expensive. Considering the recent financial reports, they all should up their prices just for a little more revenue. Of course given the competition with YOUR piracy, hacking, and used game buying and trading I'm trying to wonder where a lot of the gamers get the nerve.

Do I think games should cost more or even this much? Absolutely not. But because of other things and the effects of capitalism at its best, then they should be higher or at a good price now.

Wait let me get this straight, the CEO said his company doesn't care for games that cannot be milked every year and be placed on most plafforms on the market?
