I said that I excluded all future releases (save one) as I felt that they were too hard to predict. Did you not read that? And still, I doubt GT5 has any chance of making it. It is TBA, so it is doubtful that it will be released before Nov/Dec. And as a result of that, I doubt it will make 4M in this year - after all, GT is a rather legged franchise.
Kantor, I consider it likely that MW2 will release this year, but I'm not certain, as it has yet to be confirmed. |
Barring some kind of European War, a massive shark that can leap 30,000 feet into the air spawning in the Atlantic Ocean, or Activision's factories and warehouses simultaneously exploding on November 11th or 12th, it will release 3 days later in Europe. Like every other Call of Duty. Why on earth would they have reason to change it?
Wii Sports is given away with all Wii systems except for Japan and should not be counted. A list of top 10 selling new games released in 2009 would be better than a list of generic old games mainly consisting of old Wii games from 2006 and 2007.
2009 release games only:
1. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (multiplatform)
2. Assassins Creed 2 (multiplatform)
3. Guitar Hero 5 (multiplatform)
4. Fifa 2010 (multiplatform)
5. Madden 2010 (multiplatform)
6. Wii Sports Resort (Wii)
7. Halo 3:ODST (X360)
8. Super Mario Bros (Wii)
9. Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)
10. Killzone 2 (PS3)

And why is that? It is a thread with the best selling titles of the year. Just because you don't like the titles doesn't mean a list with them is a bad idea.

You realize that Pokemon Platinum and Dragon Quest IX have already knocked Killzone off that list, right?

Wait, where did Killzone 2 come from? Where's Resident Evil 5 or Dragon Quest? And Assassin's Creed sells more than Wii Sports Resort? And no Wii Fit+?

There's no question that NSMBW will be a huge seller but 4-5 million? We don't have a concrete release date but the placeholder is 11/01 which would mean the game would have to sell 4-5 million in two months... that's not really likely.
Halo ODST needs to be in the top 10.
so its going to be basically nintendo dominated, with 8 nintendo games in the top 10, 2 xbox 360 games (halo odst and MF2) and no ps3 games.
@Damkira, New Super Mario Bros. DS sold 3.8 million in its first 8 weeks, according to VGChartz. Aligned launches, that is.
EDIT: and 3.4 million without aligned launch. And that was in may on a console with an 18 million installbase. How huge can it be on a console with a 55 million installbase at christmas?
