my ps3 broke yesterday, I dunno wats happened but the shop guy said he'll give me a refund (£299)

I asked my friend who works at game (UK store) what I should do, he told me to get a refund of £299 & then buy a Ps3 slim.......I hadn't heard anything about a ps3 slim so I checked on gamespot & IGN, but no-one said anything about a PS3 slim

what should I do, because I don't fully trust that friend

Well since Gamescom isn't that far from now I advice for you to wait and see if they announce the slim or not then you can decide.

What model do you have? If it's BC, don't wait for the slim. If not, might as well wait because the repair ($150) is half the supposed price of the slim ($299).

oh I got it in UK on the MGS4 launch, but never played a ps2 or ps1 game

ps2 & ps1 are in my bedroom

while PS3 is downstairs

so BC doesn't matter at all

Will the slim cost less? if it does I might even make a profit through selling this PS3 now

PS3 slim will probably cost between £215 and £260, from various rumours. And will most likely be coming out on September 1st.

If the shop keeper will give you £300, take that, you can just buy a brand new PS3 is you want with that money, but the chances are, if you wait 3 weeks, you will get a cheaper PS3

Sony would appreciate it if you bought a ps3 now and got rid off their remaining stock

they will probably take some things off the slim like wi-fi so i would just get another fat ps3.

if they take of wi-fi I'm screwed because I need wi-fi in the PS3 to go on PSN!!!!

I think you should get the refund and wait atleast until gamescom before getting another ps3.
