Looks like the Wii has passed this test. Of course it is kind of sad because now developers will work on making many more clones of this type of game on Wii rather than new ips like No More Heroes, etc. Nintendo should really try to bring the standard of quality seal back in some form, so that developers just don't sit on their laurels and try to bring out cheap clones of successful Wii Series games that obscure everything else in the market.

Oh i get it, So theyre going to make WM+ enabled waggle minigame collections? Like they always do, despite the fact they are alot alot less successful now that the majority of mainstream audiences have kinda wised up. (movie brand name games are irrelivent bcoz they also sell pretty well on 360 if u didnt notice)

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

preorders, no.1 on amazon for Uk and US a month before release. Im guessing 200k in US and 100k in UK.

It looks like the only two movie tie-ins in the 360's top 50 are Kungfu Panda and Lego Indiana Jones which have been bundled with Arcade units, so it appears that being bundled with a console must have some effect on sales.

On the other hand, the most recent games in their genre:  Wii Sports Resort and EA Sports Active Life continue to sell far better on Wii than all of Marvelous' games, The Conduit, Madworld, and No More Heroes combined.

Nice one although it's not really a major accomplishment when you think about it.

I thought the Wii was flat...

Don't be silly.... the Wii is round, Columbo said so.

The game bombed. The Wii has a userbase of over 50 million, anything less than that is a total failure. Now this is real proof that casuals only buy Wii for WiiSports, and nothing else. Lets face it.

But when you take a picture of the Wii or look at it you see flatness not roundness! How can you disprove what I can see with my very eyes!?

Tease.

Well people used to think the world was flat* because they could see it was flat with their own eyes, I suggest you are perhaps too close up to the Wii to realise it is not actually flat.

*n.b This is a myth, people did not think the world was flat, and Christopher Columbus certainly didn't have anything to to with trying to prove it was spherical because he believed it was saped like a pear.

It will have crazy legs.

WOW this game will be a beast! I guess that puts to bed any speculation of bad sales from a few users.
