My average is $30, so I even out you two.

$60+$60+$30 = 150 = $50 per game

congradulations. You're still doing it wrong.

exactly, because youre wrong.

I edited my post with the numbers for my 360 section.

And a game like Final Fantasy which will be selling well far into the year will not get a price drop until its Greatest Hits/Platinum Hits release. Of course, in Europe everything drops fast in price regardless of how well it's selling.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

If anything is great value for your buck, it's Bethesda games and their DLC.

An Oblivion or Fallout 3 DLC could give you 5-10 hours worth of play (minimum) for only 800pts/$10!

That's very cheap compared to a game like Star Wars The Force Unleashed, Heavenly Sword, Prince of Persia or whatever that gives you 10 hours for $60.

Are you including DLC into your 30 dollar estimates?

LOL I posted in the wrong thread.

You have to keep in mind though that alot of time was spent developing the "Crystal Tools" which will be their main engine for games going forward. Things like the Unreal engine and Cryengine save tons of money for developers using them (and make a pretty penny for those leasing them). Square has no doubt spent an astronomical amount of money, but not just on FFXIII but a set of tools that they will be using to make HD high tech rpgs for years and years to come.

So even if they don't make a huge profit on FFXIII they may very well on whatever they do after XIII because the cost of making it will be so low using their new engine and tools. And if they ever decide to let other companies use their Crystal Tools then they will be have definitely made up the costs and then some.

Beaten to the punch! The man speaks sense.

While I doubt Crystal Tools will be licensed the way Unreal Engine is, the engine does save tremendous cost on all future titles. Although I'm pretty sure Square is still pretty bruised by the massive development cost. This game really needs to break10 million sales just to see a reasonable return of investment.

Well i was going to say smething along these lines

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

Retailers pay $48 for a $60 RRP game.

Source - Invisible Walls episode 66.

Saw a small debate on that, not sure if there are any sources that conflict with that figure? Also I'd assume SE arn't going to pay full royalties, as they would have got something from Sony for Japan exclusivity and something from Microsoft for porting the game? That's just speculation though so should be ignored :P.

There'll be a collections edition to bring in some extra money though.

I have a question for you. Maybe you can do it right. If the consumer is buying a game for less than 60 dollars does that mean it's because the retailer paid less for it?
