if it were up to me, I would pick Bioware as the RPG company I'd want there to be more of...

I agree as far as making the better RPG's.  However, Bioware sucks at supporting their games post launch with DLC.  I'm hoping that dragon age will change that, they are at least talking about it a lot more.

The reason I want developers to be more like Bethesda is that Bethesda is awesome at releasing lots of quality DLC for their games post launch.  Basically expanding their huge games even more.

I guess that is the difference between you and I.  I would much prefer to just buy a superior RPG than I would have access to an unrelenting stream of DLC for a boring, plodding game.

lol, I'm not saying Bethesda is a better company than Bioware.  I'm a pretty obvious Bioware fanatic. (although I am a huge fan of Bethesda as well)  I just wish more companies had that aspect of constantly improving their games post launch with quality, well priced DLC like Bethesda.  Does that make sense?

Am I the only person thats overwhelmed by bethesda games? Because the open worlds are too much for me and I hate playing a game with the feeling that I'm skipping or missing so much. Thats why I never got into Oblivion or Fallout3

That's an interesting argument. I don't think you are alone.

But isn't that an issue in real life too? The world around you is an open world with so many opportunities of which you will miss the vast majority.

Please don't confuse me as a hater. I played both games but the problem is with me not the games. Although I do like versitility and sidequests, I like them to be more organized and a little plot would be nice, but I get this vague feeling when I'm exploring . And another thing that bugged the bajeezies out of of me is that there is so much stuff you can collect but your limited to carrying so little.

Tell us what's a superior RPG in your opinion. Name your favorites.

Read what I quoted.  He said that he even thinks Bioware makes superior games to Bethesda, but wishes more companies were like Bethesda on the DLC front.  I was saying that, given that choice, I would take the superior game to DLC for the inferior game.

Oh...

Damn you gergroy lol. Bethesda stomps Bioware!

So what if you had the superior game with the DLC. Do you see what I'm saying? Wouldn't it be awesome if Bioware was still making content for Mass Effect, Jade Empire, or even KotOR? With new stories, places to visit, new allies, etc. That is why I wish more developers were like Bethesda.

Yeah, it makes sense, and I got what you were saying.  And I agree, well-done DLC is a lovely treat, although I haven't personally played much DLC that I actually enjoyed, outside of Fable 2: See the Future and GTA4 TLAD, which was 10x better than the game itself.

I just can't relate to your statement because it contains words of praise for Bethesda, easily my least favorite developer on the surface of the planet.

lol, in some ways Bethesda does. However, Bioware is still my favorite developer.... You're still da man slimebeast :)

I feel a bit bad about my previous comment.

Oblivion is the best game this gen to me, so I really like bethesda.

But I hate DLC.

I LOVE ICELAND!

I understand perfectly. I have the same feeling. But I try to control and suppress it, but the feeling is still so strong that it forces me to explore a lot of useless stuff. You know, obsessively clear every cave in every corner of the map (even if it's just filled with rats and imps). That's part of the reason I and many other players got +1,500 hours with Oblivion.

And yes, open world/sandbox games are harder to get into. The first 30 minutes with the game are crucial. That's why it took me two years before I got into Morrowind, on my third try.

I'm glad most developers aren't like them. Overpriced aditional content instead of regular expansion packs and the worst AI since.. Doom.. 1

and you probably wouldn't hate it if more companies were like Bethesda with their DLC. Tons of companies just try to do a quick little exploit DLC to get a little extra cash from the game. However, Bethesda just keeps delivering quality DLC at bargain prices.
