Forums - Sales - Tony Hawk Ride, why bother with the Wii version?

Couldn't you have applied the same logic to Guitar Hero / Rock Band? Didn't effect them :/.

They have the whole storage issue too.

I wont bother with anoter tony hawk game, those were good for me in the ps1 days, great games and fun, after underground on the ps2 I think the series went to hell, especially this generation.

Pretty much i like tony hawk but fuck this game im sticking to the SKATE series...

Those complaining about BB compatibility, this is just crazy considering what the publisher wanted to do with this. With the kicks and lifts and manouvers that they are trying to simulate, you can't do it with the BB. They have sensors on the sides of the board to see your foot move past so you are kicking along in the game. The sensors see your hands reaching for the board to do grabs and other tricks. I find it pretty cool that they are trying this. If I was a lot LOT younger I'd be buying this like Guitar Hero: World Tour, RIGHT AWAY. But my skating desires are long past. But I still recognize the efforts with this game and think that this is pretty damn cool. It is tough though always having to have a new accessory for a new game but with this I feel the manufacturers are well within justifying it. It works for what they want. Now the REAL problem will be when other publishers create their versions of this game and decide they want their OWN board controllers and don't want to share the functionality of ONE board (just like Rock Band and Guitar Hero). That's where the problems exist with these type of accessories. The publishers and manufacturers need to work together. Tony Hawk game will be cool and the board is pretty sweet from what I've seen. Like I said, I wish I was younger so I could fully enjoy this technological advancement. But it will never beat the days when we used to ride the real ones to school and grab onto our friends car for the rides home after school (thanks to Back to the Future and old Michael J Fox).

The balance board wouldn't have been a suitable replacement for the board they are packaging with this game, so short of making the Wii version entirely different, so I don't understand the complaint there. For those who don't already own a balance board it would be more expensive than the ride bundle as well.

I do agree with the sentiment that this game should bomb, if only to stop everyone from bundling their games with overpriced pieces of plastic.

Then don't buy it.

forthe people who don't have PS3 or 360, but have a Wii. There are many of them.

I myself only have a DS, and I couldn't be happier.
