Forums - Gaming - Robert A. Kotick from Activision: "I would raise the prices even further."

Seems like some CEOs think a lot about higher prices:

Tony Gikas - Piper Jaffray

And a second question, if you don’t mind, just your comfort level regarding pricing of some of your new games that have some expensive controllers and any feedback that you had from retail as we move through the holidays. Thanks, guys.

Michael J. Griffith

And then on the second question, Tony, on the pricing, we’ve had for all of our launch titles in the back half of this year, some of which contain peripherals, as you point out, very strong retailer acceptance and support for all parts of our plan, including our merchandising plans, our marketing programs, and our price points.

And Tony, you know if it was left to me, I would raise the prices even further.

Of course they're not going to do it. But some of their products are quite overpriced like DJ Hero.

And more the reason that Activision is taking EA's place of hated huge company.

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Robert Kotick is quite the hypocrite.

What a horse's ass.

At least EA has a very good amount of nice games coming out and they have only MW2

But war... war never changes

It's funny that Activision continue on the path that EA realized had to turn away from (the make franchises and milk them for everything they're worth strategy). They could learn from EA's eventual stagnation, but they don't see a problem.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

isn't this the dude that's slamming sony for the price of a ps3?

I don't see how their pricing is much worse than EA's though. I just saw the poster for the Rock Band Beatles full band set and the fucking thing costs $250.

I don't know whether to be refreshed or disgusted by their honesty in their willingness to fleece the consumer.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

The Guitar Hero games keeps them going too. The thing I don't get is how could he be telling Sony that need to cut their price so they can sell more. Then he wants to raise the price of the games
