Resistance 2 is sitting at 1.57m sold and didn't that release very close to COD:WAW? I know that had a large following from Resistance 1 but the PS3 has a larger instal base now (hopefully will be helped even more by a soon to be price cut) and MAG still has the fact that it's a PS3 exclusive and holiday sales to help it. I know MW2 is obviously going to take sales away from it but I'm still fairly confident MAG will do ok, assuming the game is actually any good of course. Given reasonable reviews I think MAG could still do around 1mil by the years end, which would be good for that title. I will be picking it up before MW2 anyway .

I hope MAG succeeds but the game is quite unpopular even among Sony fans. Most people are very sceptical.

The hype is just a fraction of games such as Heavenly Sword, Resistance or Infamous.

Different genres, but think Motorstorm 2 (or perhaps Warhawk, buy we lack complete sales for that game) when you try to imagine sales potential and anticipation for MAG. Motorstorm 2 didn't even reach 500,000 in it's first 10 weeks out. Same with SOCOM which is perhaps the best comparison to MAG's potential, released in Oct 2008 and also selling 500,000 before end of year.

This is best case scenario, 500k before end of year. Personally I believe in a huge flop and 250,000 copies. Actually I doubt a 2009 release date at all.

Not buying MW2, not unless it is the price of a normal game, atleast.

i'm not paying the money for MW2, so it's MAG for me.

Game looks awesome anyway, and getting it then will give me the chance to get some experience and pwn some noobs when they finally get over their MW2 fix!
