Really interested in what the hardware numbers will be for the Wii in the following weeks. That said once NSMB Wii releases I will be very shocked if the Wii does not have an increase in sales for many many months.

Does that 583k figure include those sold with the black Wii? If not, the figure is probably more like 650k, given that the Wii got a 70k spike in sales from people buying a Wii for this game (and if that's why you were buying a Wii, you would surely get the bundle).

Very nice sales for MH3, I predicted 550,000 first week, and 1,300,000 lifetime.

I'm not happy. I wanted sales to remain in the 30K field.

Now we won't see a pricecut anytime soon. Hope it drops hugely next week. A pricedrop is far more important than a 4~5 weeks boost.

@waron: Capcom were projecting sales of 1.5 million lifetime in Japan and 500k in the west so 1.8-2.2 million would be a great success.

OP: Those are some good numbers indeed, especially that hardware boost. It'll be the long term boost that will be important and I'm sure Wii Fit Plus (releasing October 1 in Japan) and the almighty NSMBWii will push the Wii back to where Nintendo wants it to be.

Well let's not get carried away, it is still 417k away from 1 million and this is not a PSP MH title. That said MH3 numbers completely tore apart sales of the PS2 games since the franchise has become huge since then. If all goes well for MH3 is should pass 1 million a month from now but I don't expect anything more than 1.2 million lifetime unless it gets some of the PSP MH legs which is possible.

It will be the first HOME console of this generation to pass 1 million and the highest 3rd party seller. Will be beaten by FFXIII this year but those two will be far ahead of the other 3rd party sellers.
