Forums - Gaming - Squares Multiplatform Status

Im sure people have talked about this before, but I just always wondered, Square Enix have said so many times this gen that they are a multiplatform dev. Now I know that they have brought games to the wii and xbox, and some to ps3. What i dont get is that they have Star ocean 4, The Last Remnant and Infinite Undiscovery which are all exclusive to xbox. What happened to their multiplatform status???? more like they only said that so they could bring final fantasy to xbox. Does anyone else think thats unfair? why cant PS3 owners play those games?

I have an xbox too so i played them at launch (not that they were that good mind!). This isnt a fanboy comment, it just annoys me because square obviously arent as multiplatform as they claim!

Oh and does anyone else think Lost Odyssey is the best JRPG this gen lol? It rocks!

The Last Remnant isn't exclusive, it's multiplatform.

@Shio

yeah i know, but a few months ago in an interview with one of the games developers, they said that they cant comment on the ps3 release, and there has been no mention at all of it since on ps3, i think that its been quietly cancelled imo

Infinite Undiscovery was paid for by MS. That one was never meant to be multiplat.

Infinite Undiscovery is a Microsoft IP. MS was going to publish the game themselves originally but they figured the game would sell better under the Square Enix label.

Well you have to take into account that Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy XIV Online are only (at this moment in time) announced for the PS3 with no 360 in sight and to be honest i would much rather have those games remain exclusive than having the awfulness that was The Last Remnant (bought it for 360 and thought it was awful) etc on the PS3!
