And Modern Warfare 2 is on PS3, so what's your point?
How do we know that Microsoft won't release a 360 Slim for the holidays this year? Just because they haven't leaked like the Sony sieve?
There's been rumours since mid 2008 of a 45nm Valhalla based 360 to be released in 2009.
Never argue with idiots
They bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience
I love these type of threads, because you can tell who the biggest fanboys are haha (not that that's entirely bad lol)
Anyways, if sony does what is expected, they will 90+% chance finish second this holiday in the console race
.....oh but if they dont...

LOL you act as if Nintendo and M$ aen't going to do a thing and let Sony walk all over them well I'm going to tell you that when it comes to bussiness M$ is the Beast of all Beasts they killed every little thing that competed with microsoft office and they probably have something crazy up thier sleeves for this holiday season.

And they killed everything that competed with the Xbox, Windows Live Search and Windows, right?
EDIT: Not to mention Internet Explorer.

Perhaps the point isn't that MS wins every fight (I shudder at the memory of BOB), but that they're willing to throw massive resources at a market to win over the long haul, and sometimes they overcome all obstacles and still win. Examples are MS Office and Internet Explorer. At one time MS was a minor player in both application spaces: Lotus 123 was king of the spreadsheets, WordPerfect was king of the word processors, Netscape was the king of browsers, etc. But with enough investment and time, MS crushed the competition. As far as office apps go, MS still has about 80% of the market... and that's against a free product. Internet Explorer is currently estimated at about 68% market share overall.
Of course it's entirely possible that MS will never be number one in consoles, but they're likely to keep bleeding a little bit of red (respective to the billions in profit they make every quarter, overall, as a company) just to win the war. Yeah, it doesn't seem fair that an 800 pound gorilla can just step into the ring and use its warchest to start throwing hard punches right away, but that's the way some industries work. Did they beat the PS2 with the Xbox? No. Did they go from zero market share to something respectable in one console generation? Yes. Is Sony out of the running? No. Did they go from being King of the Hill last round to a 3rd place player this round? Yes.
Time will tell.
PS - I use Macs at home as I'm not a Windows fan... but I admit that I'm in a small minority of users.

Face it, MS can't counter a $299 PS3 this Holiday season.
A $50 X360 price drop would be nowhere near enough to lift the sales up to PS3 Slim levels. A $299 Slim would lift the PS3 sales by 45% on average for the rest of 2009 (a lot higher in the first couple of weeks of course).
The only hope is that Sony can't afford to sell the Slim for $299 this year, or even $349, or else it's game over for Xbox in this generation.
You can quote me on this.
