Microsoft is their publisher... what other reason is there for Remedy to "unconfirm" the PC release?

I never said wrong about the game, only Microsoft the Remedy. One, because Microsoft pulls this stunt while still saying that they support the PC platform (hypocrisy), and Remedy because they made a deal with MS that allowed them to trample all over Remedy.

What I did not like to hear about the game itself is that they are leaving the open-world part out of the game, after many years already in the development.
