It's sign of weakness.

N64, NGC, XB, XB360 and now the PS3 all (did) have markets in which they where weak.

Yep thats it.

People in America feel that the Xbox 360 = Gawd because mainly of Halo 3 + Xbox Live which in in americas eyes = the gods grace of gaming.

Im not being rasici or whatever that word is or anything cause im apart of the USA to! (Hawaii lol) im just saying a large faction of them are like that.

So in conclusion, EU/UK people are smart enough to know whats what.
