4.6GB is the total

The game deletes the old and installs the new files after every act. It's not wrong.

20 out 35 games I bought had a mandatory install, but the range is very broad. Some are well under 100MB while others are well over 1GB. GT5P is the largest particularly if you download GT TV videos because it is essentially nothing more than an installer disk for a PSN game. MGS4 is the other title with the largest install. 

It's all on the developer really. 

The 40GB drive really isn't adequate for a gamer who buys games on a monthly basis and wants to keep them all installed. The 20GB drives were completely inadequate for all but the most basic of uses. 

But it looks like 120GB drives will become the new base line standard this fall.

lol its funny the install for GT5 p is bigger than the actual game.. My game is like 2GB big on my HDD, and the install for the disc is like more than twice as big.

The bigger version instals also some kind of promo movie or some other junk like that :D
